Callie's POV:

Another year, and another Christmas was almost over, thankfully. The drama with my sister, was definitely not needed or wanted that year, but we were stuck in the middle of it, regardless.

Arizona and I had just finished having a conversation with Ari in the treehouse, when Arizona immediately got up.

"Not to be rude, but Ari, we have guests inside our house and I need to go. Merry Christmas, but we will need to talk more later."

With that, Arizona speeded back to our house and probably encountered a herd of people just finishing their breakfast. Thank goodness Arizona and I were able to have a few minutes to eat before Aria's dramatic outburst. Still, I made a mental note to make sure I grabbed another pastry once Ari and I parted ways.

My sister continued to cry, as she supported the weight of her head, or what seemed like the weight of the world, in her hands. Ari's face was obscured by her hands, but you could still see part of her quivering, bottom lip.

As furious as I still was at Ari for everything she had put Arizona and I through, I could hear my conscience reminding me, 'She's still your sister and she's hurting.' Some moments my conscience really drives me nuts and that late morning was definitely one of them.

So, I sat back down on the couch, next to Ari, and put my arm around her. She immediately shifted her body and buried her face into my shoulder. She did all this while still crying which surprised me she still had any tears left. Too bad she cheated on her Optometrist girlfriend, because after a crying session like Ari's, she was going to need an eye doctor's medical help.

"Callie, how could I fuck things up so royally? I've been texting and calling Renee since she left and she won't answer me. How could I be so stupid? Renee's the one I want to be with and I was so scared to commit to her that I cheated."

More crying noise were starting to come out of Ari as she continued to keep her face on my shoulder. I had no doubt in my mind at this point that my upper shirt was more than likely soaked between her tears, snot and saliva. Not exactly the Christmas gift I had hoped for from my sister that year.

"Ari, either way, I don't think you will figure it out right now and Arizona's right, we do have a house full of guests today. Keep in mind I'm still mad at you and we need to talk more, but Ari, I still love you. Later, when you're not so hurt, I will exact my revenge on you though, keep that in mind. Until then, however, you're safe, but should use your time wisely."

I kissed the top of her forehead while hugging her, before standing up. Ari followed my lead, and stood up as well. Thankfully her waterworks were slowing down, finally.

"You can stay in the treehouse house until you leave. Just close the door, we're leaving it to heat up so Arizona, Sophia and I can sleep in here tonight after our dinner winds down." With that, I turned and started walking to the door.

"Also Ari," I spun back around to face her again, "you might want to make an extra effort today to talk with Dad. He's been pretty hurt by the way you've treated him during his vacation and who knows how long we have with him, or anyone for that matter. I'm the first one to tell you that with the things I see in the ER."

Ari shook her head in agreement with me, as I turned and walked out. Before closing the door, I heard her start blowing her nose. Something told me that wasn't going to be her last time doing that during the rest of the day.

Once back inside the house, I witnessed my brunch prediction coming to fruition and a group of folks in the kitchen handing their plates to Arizona as she was organizing the mess. I wasted no time and jumped right in to assist with putting away food and cleaning up.
