She was addicted to a type of sadness that pulled her deeper into her hole. She changed herself because of her hanging past. He avoided the dark parts of his life, doesn't mean the darkness didn't loom over him.

It was now Friday, the day of the orientation. The bus had a thirty minute delay so the teachers instructed us to sit under the big maple tree and wait for it to come by.
Mother and I still haven't spoken a word to each other. Everyday it's the same routine, over and over. She doesn't speak to me or even look at me.
I messed up big time and I don't think I can dig myself out of that hole.
My phone buzzes from my back pocket, I take it out and see a message from our group chat— Katy, Ryan and I.
"Okay students," I slip my phone into my pocket when I hear Mr Paul call for everyones attention, "you may make your way to your designated bus."
I take out the piece of paper with my name on it and what number bus I'll be seated on. I stand up and the pull my suitcase along with me. Mr Stewart helps us pack our suitcases into the bus compartment.
The big blue and white bus has a blue interior. Each seat decorated with a baby blue, white and red intertwined stripe. It smells like bleach and soap, the silver poles were so clean I could see my reflection shine back at me. My unclean martins dirty the floor with each step I take towards my seat.
And I got a window seat.
I shift my small bag infront of me and take a seat. My head immediately rests on the cool window, my eyes watch the students socialize and climb onto the bus.
I haven't got many friends in my senior class. I'm friends with two people really, the rest are people I'm acquainted with.
As I'm about to pull my headphones on, I see Rayaan walk up to where I'm seated and take a seat next to me. I raise a speculating eyebrow at him and his blinding white smile.
"Looks like we are seated together." He states nervously and runs his hand on his dark denim jean.
"Looks like we are." I slowly put my headphones on. I feel someone looking at me and when I look up, adjacent to Rayaan was a boy.
