Chapter twenty seven: realization

Jake lay in a medical bed with wires connected to his body to check his heart pulse which was weak but strong. "Is he going to be okay?" Brooklynn asked Kix while looking at Jake.

"Jake's had worse injuries then this, if he doesn't survive this I would go into shock." Kix said jokingly and Brooklynn just smiled softly however she then looked over at Kenji and for the first time ever noticed he had tattoos on his arms and he had also shaved his hair basically but there was still hair but it was short.

"I didn't notice that Kenji had tattoos on his arms." Brooklynn said looking at Kenji's arms and she left the makeshift medical bay so that Kix could get to work on healing Jake.

Brooklynn then walked into her room and pulled off her hair tie which kept her hair in a bun and she lied down on her bed but felt a cramp located near her stomach which she had been feeling for the last few days and she grabbed an object and walked into the bathroom.

Brooklynn groaned in annoyance as she changed position to get comfortable. Meanwhile Ben was sitting down cleaning the visor of Striker Eureka when he heard a scream. Ben put on his helmet and rushed into the bathroom nearly knocking down the door in the process sting blades activated. "Where's the danger?!" Ben asked looking around and he then looked at Brooklynn while deactivating his sting blades.

More importantly the thing she held in her hand. "Is that a pregnancy tester thing in your hand?" Ben asked looking at the object and he grabbed it from Brooklynn's hand and it showed up as positive.

"I can explain.." Brooklynn said trailing off as Ben placed the pregnancy tester in Brooklynn's hand.

"How?" Ben asked trying to think of the most logical explanation for what was happening. "It wasn't me. It couldn't be Darius or Kenji, and this isn't Alabama so Jake and Sketchy are out of the question." Ben said and that's when he realized who it was.

"Derek is the reason isn't he?" Ben asked at random and Brooklynn realized who Ben was talking about almost instantly. Derek was Eli Mill's kid and had been born thirteen years before his father died.

The last time that Brooklynn had talked with Derek he had threatened to kill both Sammy and Kenji if she didn't sleep with him which had been three weeks before she went to go see Jake's statue. Brooklynn put her hand to her mouth and she began to cry silently. "No." Brooklynn said softly and she fell into Ben's arms.

Ben hugged Brooklynn as she began to cry into the metal of Striker eureka. "I am going to kill that bastard." Ben growled darkly but that's when he remembered how he had heard that Brooklynn managed to break his arm after that incident.

"Just let my dad deal some d-damage as w-well." Brooklynn stuttered whilst still sobbing and Ben just held her tightly but gently.

"If he tries anything on you I'll cut off his arm." Ben said to Brooklynn however that's when Sammy called out for them.

When the two walked back to the others Sammy said. "It's Derek, he says he wants us to come meet him in Chicago." Sammy said and Brooklynn froze up.

"And if we don't?" Ben asked and Sammy sighed.

"He didn't say what he would do if we didn't come to Chicago." Sammy said and Ben got an idea.

"If Derek tries anything I'll be wearing the striker eureka armour so that means that I'll be able to respond quicker if he tries anything." Ben explained but Brooklynn sat uncomfortably.

"Yaz you up for this?" Sammy asked looking at Yasmina who just nodded silently and stood up from where she was sitting.

"I'm going to be like Ben and use Saber Athena instead of Obsidian fury." Yasmina said and she went to go put on the Saber Athena Jaeger suit.

"What about me?" The clone asked and Sketchy then said.

"You're staying back with me, Joshua, and Rex to hold the Fort and protect Jake while they're out in Chicago." The clone sighed and lowered her head in sadness.

"Alright then Dino squad, let's move." Darius said and Joshua raised a brow.

"Who died and put you in charge?" Joshua asked and Sketchy smacked his cousin up the back of his head.

"Just get going." Sketchy stated and the campers walked off to get into the transport which would take them to Chicago.

"I just hope this "Derek" doesn't try anything." Rex said and Sketchy chuckled.

"If Jake wakes up and finds out that he did something to the kids he'll rip off that mans face." Sketchy said in reply.
