chapter thirty: return

Jake shot up and looked around already knowing that the campers weren't there. "Easy Jake, take it easy." Sketchy said gently forcing Jake to lie back down.

"Where are the kids?" Jake asked at random and Sketchy sighed but didn't answer. "Sketchy answer me." Jake said and Sketchy then answered with.

"They're in Chicago, they were invited there by Derek Mills." Jake after hearing Mills got up and stomped off towards the Jaeger suit hall.

Inside the hall Joshua was testing out Titan redeemer's mourning star. "Joshua ready up, we're going to Chicago." Jake growled walking past his younger brother who had just deactivated the mourning star.

"May I ask why?" Joshua asked but Jake didn't answer and that's when Sketchy and Rex entered.

"General wait. You shouldn't be going into combat before Kix has run a full diagnosis on you." Rex said as Jake walked towards the Coyote Tango Jaeger suit.

However Joshua then grabbed him and pulled him back with Jake trying to get out of his grip. After about thirty minutes Jake was finally able to be returned to the makeshift medical bay by the combined might of both Titan redeemer and sketchy using Cobal tenegrade.

"If that bastard even lays a finger on my daughter I'll rip his arm off." Jake growled darkly however that's when Kix cleared his throat.

"He did more then that actually..." Kix started and Jake looked at him confused. "...He got her pregnant." Kix finished and Jake's face went from angry to downright confused and shocked.

"HE DID WHAT?!?" Both Sketchy and Joshua roared but Jake just opened and closed his mouth silently.

"Your telling me that Eli Mill's son and my daughter actually did the thing?" Jake asked dangerously calm and Kix just nodded silently. Jake took a deep breath in and out and then got up and then pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I'm going to be a grandfather at the age of forty, and Brooklynn's a mom at the age of what? Twenty something." Jake said and he sighed softly.

"Still want to kill Derek?" Joshua asked and Jake looked at his brother.

"Not yet, besides I'm not going anywhere when I look like I got the crap kicked out of me." Jake said shaking his head and he sat down on the medical bed and lied down.

Joshua and Sketchy then left to return the Jaeger suits to the Jaeger suit hall. "Keep strong Brook because I'm coming soon." Jake said and he then closed his eyes to rest and heal.

Meanwhile Brooklynn called out for Ben and he walked over to her. "What is it Brooklynn?" Ben asked opening the door.

"I'm hungry for pizza." Brooklynn said and Ben facepalmed and then walked out.

"What was she asking for?" Darius asked and Ben sighed.

"She's craving pizza." Darius raised a brow and looked at Ben as he called up the nearest pizza place. After waiting a good thirty minutes Ben walked with the pizza box in his hand to Brooklynn's room.

"Thanks." Brooklynn said cheerfully and she then followed it up with. "Now get out." Brooklynn hissed and Ben left hastily.

"What's wrong with her now?" Sammy asked Ben as he closed the door.

"She's got a mood swing." Ben said and Sammy just stopped herself from laughing. "What's so funny?" Ben asked confused and Sammy then just waved her hand.

"It's just that you're so shocked over a mood swing from her that you completely forgot Yaz has mood swings every second day." Sammy said and that's when Yasmina yelled out.

"I heard that!" Ben looked over his shoulder at the door to Brooklynn's room and then just sighed.

"I need some fresh air." Ben said putting on the helmet for Striker eureka. "If you need me I'll be outside." Ben followed up with as he walked out of the door while Derek was reading a novel.

Derek briefly looked up at Ben as he opened and closed the door and sighed before closing his novel. "Now that he's gone let's see what I can do to poor Brook." Derek muttered to himself but then remembered that the other campers were still here.

"It can wait until I set my plan in motion." Derek said and he went to his room.
