chapter thirty eight: training

Ben glanced at his friends as they walked into the cadet quarters and he then asked Nathan. "Why aren't I getting sent to the cadet quarters with my friends?" Ben asked and Nathan sighed before answering.

"Because you've been using Striker eureka for years while they've been using theirs for months." Nathan said Ben just nodded silently and walked off to his quarters.

Ben placed his bag on his bed and sat down on it putting his hand to his forehead but then went to sleep. However in the morning when Ben opened the closet he saw a brown leather jacket inside with Striker eureka's call sign on it which was a white and light brown bulldog with a missile in it's jaws on it.

Ben grabbed the jacket and put it on and then took off his iconic blue headband and placed it on the bed side table. Ben then left his room and walked over to the cadets quarters and opened the door to it. "Ranger on deck!" Kenji exclaimed and Ben's friends stood at attention.

"Really guys? It's me." Ben said and they relaxed a bit.

"Sorry you just looked like Ranger Lambert." Kenji said rubbing the back of his head and Ben just chuckled.

"Really now Kenji? I don't even have a beard." Ben said and Kenji looked the ground ashamed. "On other notes cadets. We'll be doing combat simulations today." Ben said changing the topic and he motioned for them to follow him.

Inside the combat simulation Nathan stood his arms crossed with Appo behind him standing at ease. "What took you so long Pincus?" Nathan asked and Ben shrugged.

"Had to get the cadets." Ben said simply and that's when Appo took lead.

"Alright you will be spilt into group of two and three." Appo said and then split the cadets into two teams. Darius, Sammy, and Kenji were on one while Brooklynn and Yasmina were on another.

"Team two your up." Appo said to Brooklynn and Yasmina who just nodded and put on the headsets. Two screens turned on showing Brooklynn using Azure infinite and Yasmina using Saber Athena.

That's when a computer generated Indoraptor and Scorpios rex appeared and the Indoraptor leaped at Brooklynn but in response she punched it hard in the face. Yasmina on the other hand kicked the Scorpios hard with a roundhouse kick and then slashing it was Saber Athena's twinblades.

However the Scorpios then looked at Brooklynn and then leaped at her back clawing at the railguns and then making it to the back of the conn pod as the Indoraptor clamped it's jaws onto her arm and Azure infinite's conn pod was crushed in the Scorpios' jaws.

Yasmina combined the two smaller twin blades together and then let out a battle cry and stabbed the Scoprios through the chest with the blade going right through it's heart killing it instantly.

Yasmina then turned around and slashed the Indoraptor on the neck with her sword and punched it with her fist. Yasmina then stabbed the Indoraptor through the head with the blade killing it. The simulation turned off and Yasmina disconnected from the simulation. "If that were a real combat scenario Brooklynn would've been killed." Nathan stated however Appo lightly smacked him up the back of his head.

"I should've been watching my back." Brooklynn said to Yasmina who just hugged her. That's when team two connected. Darius chose Valor omega, Sammy chose Romeo blue, and Kenji chose November Ajax.

Soon a computer generated Spinoraptor, Indominus rex, and Yudon appeared. darius provided covering fire by shooting his revolutionary cannons at the Yudon and Indominus rex while Sammy pummeled the Spinoraptor with Romeo blue's fists while Kenji jumped onto the Yudon's back and gave it a nasty shock with it's taser knuckles.

Sammy finally killed the Spinoraptor after hitting so hard in the neck that it's neck snapped and it fell over dead. She then activated the chest mounted Gatling cannons and gave Kenji some support as the Yudon finally died from the electricity ripping through it's body.

The Indominus then roared at the three jaeger suits and Darius then helped kill it. Darius aimed his cannon into the roof of the hybrid's mouth and shot it through the brain killing it in an instant. Team one cheered in accomplishment after disconnecting and Brooklynn crossed her arms in annoyance. "Big woopty do you guys won." Brooklynn grumbled to herself and then left with her fellow cadets.

"Appo I think we should lay off with the simulations for now on." Ben said and Appo just nodded silently.

"I just hope they won't have to watch their other friends be killed by hybrids." Nathan said and Ben shivered remembering how he using Striker eureka, Gipsy danger, and Horizon Brave had been deployed to stop a hybrid that was made up of Dilophosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and Ankylosaurus.

He also remembered how Horizon brave was nearly killed by the hybrid but thankfully he and Gipsy were able to pry the hybrid off of the mark one and throw it away. "Agreed." Ben said and then left.
