Chapter 17:

Back and forth.

Back and forth.

Make sure you get in between the fingers, too.

Fallon washes the blood of her parents thoroughly, right clean from her hands.

She lights a fire by her parent's bodies, removing her once polished clothes, now stained with thick blood.

She throws them in.

Her jumper first, then her leggings.

Breathe.

It's normal.

It was the right thing to do.

That's it...

In and out

In and out.

Fallon longs for air.

She pulls open the closest window, leaning out, gasping into the sky.

She vomits, too, using her naked skin to clean her lips.

She wears a second outfit, her first one already burned to ashes by the blazing fire.

Her eyes wander to her deceased family as their bodies lie across the floor, who were once people, once human.

No.

She shakes her head.

She could never describe her father as human.

He was a demon.

A hidden monster.

She stares into the eyes of her mother, her body longing for one last hug.

One last kiss.

She feels like stabbing her wrists for thinking this way.

Her mother wasn't real.

Her mother was a fake!

"Trying to steal my money" Fallon whispers, her lungs choke with tears, as she struggles to speak. "How could you, when you already had enough? Why try to take your daughters, who's worked so hard?" She shakes her head in disgust. "And who the fuck is Roman Wayne? Some pimp you had sex with for money?"

Kneeling down next to her mother, she pulls a face, shocked by how quickly their bodies are starting to decompose.

Rot. Decay.

She kisses her mother on the forehead.

"I didn't want it to be like this. I didn't mean to - I didn't want to hurt you. It's just, you didn't see the positive side of the situation. You didn't understand that I did what I had to, for us. For me and you. Always. Or maybe, you didn't want to understand. Therefore, you had to go. You were a liability, getting in the way. Either way, I did this for us. And I will continue to do everything in my will for us"

She smoothes her mother's hair as she speaks.

She wipes her falling tear, stands up, and takes a deep breath.

"I'll always love you" She whispers, one last time.

Fleeing from the scene, she shoves her remaining clothes back into her suitcase.

She calls the nearest cab, making her way to the airport.

She decides to leave the body of her parent's in the same position, knowing that someone will come find them.
