Chapter 32:

"One small, espresso martini please"

Fallon soothes her black bodycon dress, as she sighs, sitting on an island stool across from the counter. She changes the position of her spaghetti strap with her thumb, smirking at the bartender, who stares bluntly into her eyes.

"One glass of espresso martini?" He plays with the buttons of the cash machine. "That'll be $5.28, please" His expression clouds with boredom.

"Long day at the office?" Fallon gives him an encouraging, sympathetic smile, making herself comfortable on her stool.

He touches his forehead with the palm of his hand. "You could say that" He sighs to himself. "That'll be $5.28, please, ma'am"

Fallon picks at her nails, casually ignoring him. He opens his mouth to repeat himself.

Fallon flashes her hand to his face, laughing. "You don't need to say it again, I heard you"

The bartender waits patiently as she fishes through her handbag.

She retrieves her phone, and starts typing.

He chuckles, lightly. " Is this supposed to be a joke? Is that what this is?"

Fallon glances from her device. "Huh?"

She frowns. "What do you mean? I'm just answering a message regarding a photography course I'm taking for work" Her attention is driven back to her phone.

"Are you refusing to pay?" The bartender asks, arms leaning on the counter. "Because if you are-" He inhales, sharply. "I'll have to ask you to leave the premises"

Now it's Fallon's turn to laugh. "I'm sorry, but my drink hasn't arrived yet, therefore I can't leave". She shrugs.

Their eyes lock, and she smiles at him.

"Are you intoxicated, ma'am?" He's frustrated, but can't help grinning.

Fallon is beautiful, her silky skin continuing to melt the eyes of those around her.

"I'll have to speak to my manager, who'll speak to the owner of this place-

"Alessio Margo?"

The bartender nods. "Yes, how did-

"We're close friends. Therefore, he won't mind if I don't pay the bill"

"I'll have to contact Alessio myself"

He removes his work phone from the pocket of his apron.

"Don't bother" Fallon places her hand on his, smoothing his wrist. "He won't answer the call. He's busy"

"Busy doing what?" The young man glances into Fallon's mischievous looking eyes.

"He's taking care of something very important for me, or shall I say- taking care of someone for me" She grins, slowly releasing his wrist. " You understand?"

She winks.

He immediately breaks free from her stare, his body suddenly uneasy. "Miss, if you're refusing to pay for your drink, and won't leave the premises, I'll be forced to contact the police-

He reaches for the main phone, sitting neatly by the coffee machine.

"Are you even listening to what in saying?" Fallon asks, casually. "Take a peek under the table, love" She grins, watching as the man slowly bends down, glancing under the counter.

He immediately raises his head, his blood turning ice cold by the mere glance of the gun Fallon's gripping by her thigh.

"So-" She smirks. " How about that espresso martini, then?"
