Elijah walked around the park he used to love. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, filling his lungs with all the fresh air he could. He opened his eyes, and looked around him. People walking around, with their pet, partner, kids, or alone. That's what he loved. People that were having fun, he barely saw any supernatural there. Humans, that knew death was going to come, so they tried to have fun, the best way they could.

That's when he thought of his mother. She had a point, humans had a better life, but he just would not prefer it. He loved his strength, his speed, everything about being a vampire. Except the blood. He hated the blood lust. But he was in control, so that didn't matter. He liked being able to live forever.

He started walking, when something hit him, mostly on the legs, and he looked down. 'Oh, I'm sorry' the little human said, with an apologetic expression on her face. 'Excusez-moi' the kid corrected herself, and looked up at the man standing in front of her. He seemed scary, his posture, his style, his expression. 'It is okay' he said and then he realized the mistake he made. 'C'est bon' he said. 'You speak english, so do I' the kid said excited. 'Good' he said, and he kneeled down to her height. 'You shouldn't walk around alone' he said and she looked at him. 'I'm not alone, I was just trying to find my hair tie, I dropped it somewhere.' 'What's your name?' he asked, seeing that the little girl looked at him like she wasn't supposed to talk to him, trying to make her feel comfortable. 'My mom tells me not to talk to strangers' she said and he smiled a bit, thinking the kid in front of him was a smart girl. That's when he got to take a closer look at her features.

Light brown hair, a bit of a pointy nose (just like her father's actually), and a frown on her face. He looked at her green eyes.

Her eyes. When he saw the kid's eyes, he couldn't believe his own. He hadn't seen those eyes in years. Her face popped into his mind. Her smile, her eyes.

But that wasn't her. It was just a kid.

The rest of the kid's features seemed familiar, but nothing was like the eyes. 'Hey, are you okay?' the kid asked, moving her little hand in front of him, since he had zoned out.

He shook his head a bit, trying to get her off his head. He looked at Elize, and he stood up. 'Let's get you back to your mother, she must be looking for you' he said. She nodded, and she started walking towards the direction she remembered her mom was. He followed, keeping his distance of course. 'Elize' he heard that familiar voice behind him, that he could recognize anywhere.

The little girl turned around and looked at her mother, and ran to her arms, calling her "mommy", as Davina picked her up. He didn't turn around. He was scared. He didn't want to turn around and face her. Davina didn't pay attention to him, she could recognize him anywhere, but she was busy talking to her daughter. She put Elize down, and put her hands on her cheeks. 'How many times have I told you not to get far away from us?' she asked and the little girl looked at her mother. 'I'm sorry, I dropped my hair-tie somewhere' she said and Davina nodded. 'Okay, I'll find it for you, after I go on a walk, I've got a headache' she said, meaning she was going to feed.

He still couldn't believe it was her, there, at Manosque. 'Go back to Kol, and I'll come in a bit okay?' Davina asked and smiled at her daughter, who after nodding, ran to her uncle. When he heard his brother's name, he knew it was her. He hoped it wasn't her, even though he knew it was.

'A kid' was all he said. Davina turned from watching her daughter going to Kol, and looked at the man in front of her. Ste stood up, since she had knelt down to talk to her daughter. When she realized who it was, fear was all she could feel. She wasn't scared of him, but of her own lies. 'Elijah?' was all she could say. He turned around, and they looked at each other. 'Davina' he said. She wanted to ask what he was doing at Manosque, but she didn't. She just looked at him, looking calm, but she was panicking. 'You changed' he said, looking at her, shorter hair, but that wasn't the change he meant. 'What?' she asked confused. 'You look more like' he paused. 'A liar. A selfish pathetic-' he stopped, trying to wrap his head around what he had just seen. 'A mother?' he asked. 'Yeah, I can explain that' she tried to talk, thinking of what she would say. 'Who's the father?' he cut her off.

It was like she hit a brick wall. She didn't know what to say, how to answer to him. 'Actually, no, I don't want to know' he said and she rolled her eyes. 'Okay, just stay away from my kid' she said and then she walked away. He didn't even notice by the smell of her blood that she was a vampire, he was shocked enough.

He noticed Kol sitting at a bench across the park, watching Elize. His first instinct was to grab him by his throat and beat him again and again, and again. But not in everyone's sight. He slowly walked towards his youngest brother, and he went from behind Kol, so when he sat at the bench, next to Kol, Kol hadn't noticed, until he turned his head and saw his older brother. 'Kol. You little traitor' Elijah said, his voice showing the hatred he had built for his brother, year after year. 'Elijah' Kol said, trying to realize what had just happened. 'What are you doing here?' Kol asked and Elijah looked in front of them, at the people at the park, like he wasn't talking to the person next to him.

'You know I always come here every five or ten years, you know I love this place' Elijah said. Kol swore that moment he knew Davina choosing that place was wrong. 'I must have forgotten' Kol said. That's when Elize approached them. 'I found my hair tie, unc-' he immediately stopped her, from calling him uncle. 'Elizabeth, love, why don't you go and play for a while, I have some adult talk to do here' Kol said and Elize looked at Elijah, recognising him from before. 'Oh, are you two friends?' she asked and Kol looked at her, with a reassuring smile on his face. 'Just an old friend, kid' he said and touched her hair a bit, fixing it. 'Okay, can you help me put my hair in a ponytail first?' she asked and Kol chuckled at her, completely ignoring Elijah's existence when his niece was around. 'Of course' he said and he gave him the hair tie, and he put her hair up. 'There you go' he said and kissed her forehead. 'Thanks!' she said and then she ran away from them, going to her friends.

'So what's the deal here, you play daddy with a child that isn't yours?' Elijah asked. 'That girl is Davina's family, so she is family to me' Kol said, his expression got serious when he knew Elize wasn't watching. 'Not by blood' Elijah said.

Elijah would normally be happy for his brother, Davina too. But years of spending time just killing, and years of trying to hate both of them, he had changed. He didn't hate them, but he hated what they did. And he acted like he did hate them both.

Kol for a second wanted to tell everything to his brother. He didn't want Elijah around Davina, but Elizabeth was still his daughter. He had to know. But then he remembered Davina's words.

'No Mikaelson can find out, Kol. Not Elijah, not Klaus, or any of your siblings. They'd be bad for her, especially Klaus. Always and Forever is a curse that would ruin her. She's happy the way she is.'

He chose not to say anything.

'She is family. End of story' Kol said. 'So what happened, why is Davina with you while having a kid with someone else?' he asked, having no idea that in fact, that kid was his. That the girl was his own blood. 'That's not your business Elijah' Kol said, trying his hardest not to let any emotion come up. Because it wasn't just once or twice that Elize had asked about her dad. It wasn't unfair to Elijah, but to Elizabeth herself.

Kol was distracted by Elijah, so he didn't notice what was going on, until Elijah told him. 'Kol, listen' Elijah said, recognizing a spell coming out from Elize's mouth, and Kol looked at his niece. 'Bloody hell' he said standing up and sprinting towards Elize. 'Elize, no' he said kneeling down to her height, his voice soft but serious at the same time. 'You can't do that in public' he said, and he stood up. 'Let's go and sit down' he said and he stood up, and took the girl's hand, walking back to the bench, finding out Elijah had disappeared.

Kol and Elize sit down, when Davina shows up. 'Hey' she said and she looked at Elize. 'Why aren't you playing?' she asked and Kol looked at her. 'She was about to do a spell again' Kol said and Davina sighed.

After lecturing her daughter again, she let her go, not leaving her out of her sight though, and she sat down next to Kol.

IDK why but I wrote this chapter like months ago. Back in May, if I'm not wrong. And I did get emotional writing, not to mention I wrote while I was in class. Anyway, hope you liked this one, I definitely did!
