A Vampire's Love; the untold story

Chapter 15

Hours later, everyone knows what is going to happen. Except Hope. Freya and Bonnie, have gone to the compound, and started preparing the spell.

Hope walks in Freya's attic, expecting to find her aunt there. But she didn't. She looks out of the window and sees the already dark sky. She goes and sits on Freya's desk. She notices a letter. She tilts her head in confusion and takes it, once she sees her name on it. She narrows her eyes and opens it, not having any idea what this letter is about.

In the compound, Bonnie and Freya are waiting for Klaus. He walks in the room they are waiting, carrying Caroline, who for the moment is unconscious. They all leave the compound, headed to the Bayou.

When they get there, Klaus is already being nervous. He carries Caroline out of the car, and he looks at her whispering. 'It will all be over, love' and he gently puts her on the ground, where Freya just made a circle made of salt, and she starts preparing the spell with Bonnie. Klaus sees Caroline moving, and having no other choice, he injects her with vervain again, in order for her to remain unconscious.

Hope opens the letter. She recognises her father's handwriting and looks at it with confusion, and then she starts reading.

My dearest Hope,

I don't think there's a way to express of how sorry I am for putting you in this position. You will have to read this letter, because I am a coward. I cannot tell you everything I want to tell you in person, and that makes me a coward, not a right man. And I am sorry. Hope, my daughter, you have no idea what you mean to me. You, Hope Andrea Mikaelson, you changed me. You made me a better person, and I will never forget that. When you walked into my life, I was a merciless man, someone who did not care about anything and anyone at all. You were my redemption. Just as you uncle Elijah thought you would be. Hope, I am sorry for leaving you. This great threat needs to be eliminated, and it requires sacrifice. And doing that, makes me a better man, worthy of you. You are beyond amazing Hope, your father, is proud of you. Don't ever stop being you. Because you, Hope, you have the best part of me, in you. My best part, is you Hope. My daughter. Don't forget, that I will love you, no matter what.

Hope finished reading this letter while tears were rolling down her cheeks. 'No' she mumbles. She looks at the letter, and just reads it again, when she sees a word, and gets stuck on it. A name. 'Elijah' she says in realisation and looks around the room. With no second thought, she takes the letter, holding it tight, and runs her way to the compound. Her thoughts didn't stop. She thought that Elijah hadn't have his humanity. She thinks about Davina, but she has no time to find Davina. She runs into the basement, and looks at the coffins. There is a coffin with a letter on it. She runs to the coffin and opens it, letting the letter fall down, not paying attention to it. She sees her uncle, daggered, and looks at him. With a quick move, she removes the dagger from his Elijah's chest. She looks at him and some minutes later, he wakes up. He gasps for air, and then sits up. He sees her. 'Hope' he says and she looks at him, and she immediately offers her wrist for him to drink. 'Hurry up, we don't have time' she says and he shakes his head. 'Hope, what are you doing here, what do you mean?' he asks. 'Look, my dad is about to die and I don't give a damn if you have your humanity or not and if I have to I will drag Davina in here and make you turn it on, I will do it, but I have no time so snap that humanity switch and let's go' she says as quickly as she can. 'Klaus, what do you mean he's about to die' he asks confused ignoring the part she talked about his humanity and Davina. 'I don't know, all I know is he left a letter saying goodbye. Please help me, uncle Elijah, please' she begs. He jumps out of the coffin. 'Where is he?' he asks. 'Haven't you turned your humanity off?' Hope asks. 'No I never, long story, where is your father, Hope?' he asks. 'I don't know, we need to find him' she says and he nods. 'You, go and feed and I will do a locator spell' she says and he nods as he disappears from that place, and she walks upstairs, and starts doing the locator spell.

Deep in the Bayou, Freya and Bonnie have set up everything for the spell. Freya looks at Klaus. Klaus looks at Freya 'I need a moment' he says and Bonnie nods, then she walks a bit away. 'Sister, I know that in the start I never believed you were worthy of being in this family, but you've proved me wrong, uncountable times. I want you to do me one last favour. Make sure you undagger our brother. I have left a letter for him, make sure that he reads is, his humanity will switch back on.' Freya just nods, trying to hold back her tears. 'I love you sister' he says and lets a sad smile show up on his face, and she hugs him as she tells him that she loves him back. Later on, Bonnie walks back and they break the hug. She looks at them. 'We need to do it, now' Bonnie says and she looks at her friend lying on the ground. Klaus holds the white oak stake on his hand, tightly, and enters the circle. He looks at Caroline. Freya and Bonnie look at each other, and Bonnie goes to take Freya's hand but she hesitates, looking at Klaus. 'Sister, you need to do it' he says and she nods, and she takes Bonnie's hand. They start chanting. They channel each other, in order to remove Hollow's spirit out of Caroline, and put it into Klaus. They carry on chanting, and Bonnie's nose starts bleeding. Seconds later, Freya's nosebleed follows. But they don't stop. They continue doing the spell, and they both feel they are close. A blue light, shows from Caroline's chest, and when Klaus saw it, he new that his end, was very close. The blue light starts moving, and it's out of Caroline. They carry on, changing the words they're chanting, and Klaus looks up at the blue light. He closes his eyes, and gets ready to sign his death sentence.

Hope and Elijah, arrive there. They're both quiet. Elijah looks at Hope. 'Stay here' he says and walks closer to where the spell takes place. 'Niklaus!' He yells. Klaus opens his eyes and sees him, while the two witches stop chanting. Klaus looks at them and immediately yells. 'Carry on!' he yells at the top of his lungs and Freya with Bonnie start chanting again. 'Niklaus, don't do this' Elijah says. 'I am sorry brother, but there's no other option' he says and they all realize that the spell is about to end. 'Dad, please' Hope says crying and Klaus sees her. 'Hope' he says and he looks at her hurt. Elijah finds the chance, and with his speed, vamps in the circle and and grabs the white oak stake from his brother, pushing him out of the circle, after he snapped his neck. The spell finishes, and the blue light goes in Elijah, making him yell in pain and kneel down. The two witches fall on their knees exhausted, and only when Freya lifts her head up, she realizes that Elijah is in that circle, holding the white oak stake. 'No' she mumbles. Elijah looks at his brother. 'There is always another option, brother' he says. He looks at the stake, that he holds in front of his heart. 'Always and Forever' he says. Then, he takes a second to look at everyone. He takes a deep breath, and drives the stake in his own chest. He gasps in pain, and Freya cries, saying 'no', yelling the word and not being able to stop what happened, she watches her brother slowly dying. Hope doesn't move, doesn't say anything. Elijah's skin, starts becoming grey, from bottom to the top. He looks at them, being in pain. He quickly, without breath, looks at Freya. 'Tell Davina, tell her that I love her' he says and Freya nods crying. He starts slowly turning into dust.

The atmosphere around the bayou started being breezy, and the wind, blowing, took the dust away from that place, moving it around the trees' leaves, to the sky. The dust moved high at the sky, slowly disappearing. Elijah was gone...
