A Vampire's Love; the untold story

Chapter 40

 Elijah wakes up. He looks around him, and then he gets up. He exhales in anger. All he wanted to do was to see Davina, but it seemed like he couldn't. 'Problems I see' he hears a very familiar voice. His eyes get wide open when he hears that voice. He turns around, and he sees her. When he sees her, he can't believe that she was there. He feels like his hands and feet are going numb, and he can hear his own heart racing in an emotion, that is nothing but fear and surprise. He isn't able to utter a word.

 'Is that the way you greet your own mother, Elijah? I thought I taught you better' she says and he clenches his jaw, every muscle of his body tensed, not knowing how to react. 'You are dead' he says and she laughs a bit. 'Death can't really stop me. And I am here because of you. Thank you for that, son' she says and he shakes his head a bit in disbelief. 'How is it possible for you to be here, because of me?' he asks confused. 'Well, not really because of you. It is because of Freya and some other witch that casted the spell to bring you back. The power they used, was enough to create some kind of portal between the Other Side, the Ancestors and the real world. It just had to be used the right way' Esther says and he looks at her. 'You used it to come back' he realizes, and she nods, with a smile on her face. 'I am back Elijah. For good this time. And I am looking forward to seeing the rest of my children, once I gain all of my powers again' she says. 'Please, do not ruin the surprise to Niklaus' she says with sarcasm in her voice, and then she walks away. He watches her, unable to move, and after a few minutes, he vamps out of the cemetery, heading to the compound.

 He walks in the compound, his breathing getting heavier by the second. 'Niklaus!' he yells walking in the room that his siblings are having a meal, all together. Klaus looks at him. 'There he is! The person who all this is about' he says walking toward his brother. 'What's this nonsense?' Elijah asks looking at the rest of his siblings and then at Klaus. 'That's what I'm wondering' Kol mutters to himself. 'You are back Elijah. We shall celebrate that' Freya says after giving Kol the devil's eye for a moment. 'We don't have time for this' Elijah says, aggressively, since he is upset enough about the return of their mother. 'Of course you don't Elijah' Kol stands up. 'Just like you didn't have time to come to Davina's funeral, isn't that right, brother' he says the last word with sarcasm. Elijah looks at Kol for a second, and doesn't say anything. Then he looks at his siblings. 'Esther's back' he says and they look at him. 'What?' Freya asks and she stands up, putting her hands on the table. 'Mother. Our mother is back' he responds.

 'What do you mean our mother is back? She's dead Elijah, I killed her years ago' Klaus says and Elijah leans on the table, rolling up his sleeves. 'When Freya brought me back' he says, not mentioning Davina, 'she opened some kind of supernatural portal, I didn't get much. The thing is that I saw her, she was standing there, in front of me. And the worst part is that she's coming for us. Right now she doesn't have much strength, she said she'll gain her powers and then she'll pay us a visit' Elijah says. 'I didn't thinkt of that. Any witch can go to the other side now, or come back. I need to close that portal. And then kill Esther' Freya says and Kol looks at her.

 'If there's a magical portal or whatever it is between the worlds, doesn't that mean that Davina can go to the ancestors? If every dead witch is able to go to the Other Side, Davina is able to go to the ancestors' he says and Freya looks at him. 'Probably, but we need to close that portal.' Freya says. Then, she looks at Elijah. And after her, everyone does the same. 'What is it?' he asks, shrugging his shoulders. Klaus raises both his eyebrows, having a sarcastic expression on his face. Elijah looks at him and then he shakes his head. 'No, do not put this on me. I won't tell you what to do with the portal' he says and Kol exhales. 'We're having Davina back to the ancestors. End of the discussion' he says and he starts walking out of the room, when Elijah's hand lands on his chest, not forcefully, but with enough strength to make him stop walking. 'No. We cannot let our mother live till we are able to help Davina. We can't help her' Elijah says and Kol narrows his eyes.

 Klaus looks at Kol's jaw, as it clenches, and knows that a fight is about to start between the two brothers. 'Are you listening to yourself?' Kol raises his voice at Elijah. 'We have the chance to help her' he says and it's obvious how angry he is, by his tone. 'I'm sorry Kol, but we can't risk keeping our mother alive for that long. Davina isn't coming back. She has to stay dead' he says, being surprised by the words he just let slip out. 'Excuse me?' Kol asks, not believing what he had just heard. 'You loved her, if I remember right. But what should I expect from the person who didn't even come to her funeral, I bet you didn't even care did you?' He asks, and Klaus knows that he just crossed a line. 'Kol, that's enough' he interrupts. 'Shut your mouth Klaus' he says and then he looks at Elijah. 'Now you're not saying anything, are you?' Elijah looks at him, obviously pissed, but he remains calm. 'My personal feelings for Davina have nothing to do with what we are dealing with. This is more important than Davina, so no Kol, right now I care about the living, and how to get rid of a threat' he says, knowing he doesn't mean everything he says, but he is right and he knows it. Klaus notices that Kol is about to snap, and he knows that this won't end well, so he tilts his head a bit, signing to Rebekah to take care of Kol before the fight starts. 'I swear Elijah I will rip out-' he starts threatening, ready to attack his brother, when Rebekah's hand on his shoulder stops him. 'Kol, leave it' she says but he shakes his shoulder, in order for her to move her hand and he looks at Elijah, as his veins show up. 'Kol that's enough' Freya's voice stops him. She walks towards them. 'Let's go' she says and she's the first one to walk out of the room. 'Come on Kol' Rebekah says and walks to the door, waiting for Kol. Kol looks at Klaus, and then at Elijah. 'Kol. Go.' He hears Klaus saying strictly. He exhales in anger, looks at Elijah for a second, who's standing there, silent, and then he follows Rebekah and they both walk out of the room.
