Chapter 29

 Hayley looks at him. 'Hayley, you're not doing that' he says and she nods. 'I will, I've made my decision Elijah' she says and he looks at her. 'Why' he asks and looks at her. 'Because I love you' she says and she puts her hand on his cheek, and looks at him. He looks away from her when she says that. 'And I can see that you love her. That's why I do it' she says and then she pulls back her hand. 'I know, you don't look at me like you used to. And I just saw the way you look at her Elijah' she says and he exhales. 'Nonsense' he says softly. 'Come on Elijah, admit it' she says and he looks at her. 'You look at her, and it's obvious you love her, you have told me before anyway.' 'Hayley, just don't, I love you' he says and she smiles. 'I know you do, but not the way you love Davina' she says and he looks down. 'I know, I'm sorry' she says. 'I died, she's alive, you moved on Elijah. There's nothing wrong with that' she says. 'But that wasn't how it was supposed to be' he says. 'I didn't want to move on, I just' he says and he pauses, not knowing what to say. 'You just fell for her, when you thought you wouldn't fall for anyone else again' she continues his sentence and he nods, because she explained it better than he could ever do. 'That's what makes it beautiful Elijah, that you fell for her when you didn't expect it, it was unpredictable, maybe crazy, but beautiful' she says and he looks at her. 'Since when do you talk like that?' he asks and she chuckles. 'I always do. Just go and tell her we'll do it' she says and he looks at her. 'Hayley, letting you take that, isn't what I would do, it isn't a noble thing to do' he says and she shakes her head. 'But living for someone that loves you is noble, so just go' she says and he nods, then he walks out, and walks over to Davina.

*in the real world*

 Kol walks in the cemetery. He walks to the place he knows Davina always is, and he sees her lying down, without a heartbeat. 'Davina' he says and he looks at her. He looks around, and sees a spell she had performed and he recognises it. He recognised it was a spell to cut off the witches' connection with her, for a period of time. He laughs a bit knowing what she did and sits down somewhere. A few minutes later, he hears footsteps and stands up. He sees Rebekah and Marcel walking towards him and he exhales annoyed. 'Family gathering, now that's great' he says sarcastically and Marcel rolls his eyes, and then he sees Davina. 'What happened?' he asks and Kol shrugs. 'Davina thought she could visit her great love as I presume' he says. 'Judging by the spells she has done, she cut off the connection with the ancestors, so if she dies, she goes to the other side, instead of the ancestors. And I wonder who she's visiting' he says like he's confused, and Rebekah rolls her eyes. 'Davina wants to bring our brother back, but she can't do that' she says and Kol smiles. 'I underestimated the witch, she's bringing him back with the Hollow in him?' he asks and the smile forms into a smirk. 'We won't let her, she doesn't know what she'll be doing, that much power can kill her anyway' he says and looks at Davina's body. 'Previous time, she had me to stab her with something to bring her back. Now how is she coming back?' he asks confused. 'A protection spell you fool. It'll take an hour or so' Kol says and Marcel sighs. 'Bekah, I need to go and deal with some stuff, will you be here for when she wakes up?' he asks looking at Rebekah, and Rebekah nods. 'Yes go, I'll just stay here with Kol' she says and Marcel nods, and then he leaves.

 Caroline walks into Klaus' room, and he sees him talking on the phone. 'Alright love, I will be there shortly' he says and he hangs up, turns around and looks at Caroline. 'Hello love, I'm sorry I need to go' he says and he walks past her, as she turns around. 'Klaus wait' she says and he looks at her. 'What is it' he says and she folds her arms and sighs. 'I'm going to the school' she says and he frowns. 'Why, we're about to leave for Santorini next week' he says and she looks at him. She knows that something will come up again, and she's not a jealous person, but she is when it comes to him and the blonde bartender. 'That's what you said the previous week, and the week before that' she states, lowering her eyebrows, and he knows she's jealous, but he's in his own dilemma. 'We will leave next week Caroline, that's for sure' he says, trying to calm her down, knowing she doesn't want to go to the school, but she feels alone, since he spends almost all of his time with Camille. 'If we leave, I'll be back. But I don't just wanna spend more time in here, not knowing what to do, and having you constantly going around with Camille' she says, and she knows she's right, and so does he. 'Alright, go then, and we'll talk' he says and he walks towards her. 'Don't be jealous love' he says, smirking a bit. He leans closer to her and plants a kiss on her cheek, and she smiles, just a little bit. 'I'll see you Caroline' he says and he turns around and walks out of the room. 'I love you!' she shouts and he smiles on his way downstairs. 'I know' he says and she rolls her eyes. 'If only you said you loved me too for once' she whispers to herself, and Klaus hears it, but he just carries on his way out. She walks to her closet, and starts picking some clothes.

*on the other side*

 Elijah walks towards Davina, leaving Hayley behind, in the attic. She is sitting in one of the chairs in the church, and he sits down next to her, and stares at the wall she is zoned out, knowing she is, but she doesn't move, waiting for him to say something. 'Hayley insists on doing it. She hasn't convinced me, but she wants to do it. So if you can do it, go on' he says still staring at the wall. 'So what, now you don't love her or something?' she asks, without being mad, or pissed, her voice is calm, she's almost whispering. 'No, of course I do, but you want to bring me back. And I know you will not admit it, but we both know why you are doing this' he says, being serious, trying not to show his feelings. 'Yes Elijah, I do it because I love you, is it so hard to say it?' she says and looks down a bit. He looks at her, and he is about to say something, but he regrets it, and stands up, avoiding to say anything. 'Just tell me what we have to do here' he says avoiding to look at her. 'I'll have to go back first, I need to ask Freya for the spell she did to put the Hollow inside of you. It's much more work and I need to do it all in time. I need to go back.' She says and he looks at her. 'Then go' he says shrugging, and puts his hand in his pocket. 'I can't, the protection spell will bring me back in an hour or maybe more, unless' she pauses and looks at him. 'Unless what?' he asks looking at her. 'Unless I die in here. I will be immediately brought back.' She says and looks at him. 

 'Kill me' she says decisively. 'What' he says confused. 'Kill me Elijah, I need to go back now' she says and he shakes his head. 'No, I am not doing that.' She shakes her head and walks towards the attic. 'Davina, wait, just wait till you go back!' He says following her. She walks in the attic and Hayley stands up confused. She walks to the table, and sees a knife. 'Davina don't do this, you can just wait' he says walking in after her. 'No you don't get it. Today is all I have' she says and she looks at Hayley, and walks towards her, and Hayley narrows her eyes. 'Hayley, kill me' she says and Hayley looks at her confused. 'Just do it. I need to go back now, and this is the way' she says and Hayley looks at her. 'I won't be needing the knife' she says. Davina nods, and looks at Elijah. '6 p. m., sharp, you will go at the cemetery, to the spot I've marked, you'll find it. Right there, you'll just snap your own neck or something, you'll have to be dead' she says and Elijah looks at her, and then at Hayley. 'Hayley don't kill her, who knows if it'll work' he says and Hayley shrugs. 'She's a witch, she knows about stuff' she says like she couldn't care less, and she vamps her hand into Davina's chest, ripping her heart out. 'Hayley don't' he says, but Hayley had already done it, and he looks at her, and only thing he could see were all the times he had killed Davina on his own, in his head. He looks at his hand and he sees blood. 

 He looks up at Hayley. 'What happened' he asks confused. 'What do you mean Elijah, you just ripped her heart out' Hayley says and looks at Davina's body, which isn't next to her, but next to Elijah. 'No I didn't, you did' he says and she shakes her head. 'Are you serious? You walked in telling her not to kill her and as she was explaining you what to do, you ripped her heart out' she says and he looks at his hand, that is covered in blood. 'I killed her' he mumbles and looks at Hayley. 'Don't worry, she'll just wake up in the world of the living' she says and he nods. 'Okay' he says, still shocked of what he just did, while he blacked out. He did what he did, without realising it, he just for a second, let the monster behind the red door take control over him.

Davina wakes up gasping, and Kol looks at her, and so does Rebekah. 'Welcome back, how was your trip to the dead?' he asks smirking, and Davina stands up. 'I need to find Freya' she says and she starts walking out.
