Chapter 54

 Davina got out of the shower, wearing a bathrobe. She looked around her room, and she saw a black dress on her bed. She smiled and heard a knock on her door. 'Come in' she said and looked at the door which opened, and Rebekah walked in. 'Hey' Davina said and Rebekah closed the door behind her. 'Hey' she said and looked at the dress on the bed. 'Like that?' she asked and Davina nodded. 'Yeah, I guess Elijah put it here' she said. 'No, I did' Rebekah chucked. 'Elijah told me to get you something. Bet he's going to like that one' she said and Davina laughed. 'Yeah I think so' she said and she sat on the bed.

 'Isn't this strange? Your mother is out and going after your whole family, and we are just going out to have fun?' Davina asked and sighed, Rebekah could hear the confusion in her voice. 'If my mother is going to do something like attacking us, she's going to do it, no matter where we are or what we're doing. So why not at least have a night to take our minds off it?' Rebekah asked. 'I don't know. I just have a bad feeling' Davina said. Rebekah moved and went and sat next to her. 'Love, if every time we had a bad feeling, we let it take the best of us, we would have no moment of happiness. It's just one night' Rebekah said, and rubbed Davina's back.

 Davina didn't say anything, she just nodded. Rebekah stood up. 'Okay, you seem like you're in no mood to do anything. I'll tell Elijah and Klaus to leave' Rebekah said and Davina nodded. And then the blondie walked out of the room.

 She walked to Elijah's room and walked in. He was sitting on his bed, checking something on his phone. He looked up when his sister walked in. 'Hey, I had an idea, why don't you and Klaus go to Rousseau's first, me and Davina can meet you all later' Rebekah said and Elijah stood up. 'Why, what's wrong with all of us going together?' he asked. 'Nothing, Davina and I just want to stay here for some time. Girl stuff' she said and Elijah shrugged. 'Okay. Make sure you actually get to Rousseau's' he said and she nodded. 'We will' she said and she walked out, and went back into Davina's room.

 Elijah walked out of his room, and headed downstairs, where Klaus was. 'Where's Rebekah and Davina?' he asked. 'They're not coming now' Elijah answered. 'They'll follow later' he continued. 'Alright. Let's go' he said, and putting his jacket on, he walked out of the compound, Elijah followed.

 Davina took the dress from the bed and put it on a chair. 'So what's wrong with you?' Rebekah asked as she watched Davina throw herself on the bed. 'Nothing' Davina answered. 'There's nothing wrong, I'm just not in the best mood' she said. 'Why?' Rebekah asked. 'I don't know. I haven't tried to do magic since I came back. Not to mention I'm just worried about the whole Esther thing going on' she said. 'Everyone is worried Davina' Rebekah said. 'Doesn't seem like that' Davina replied and sat up on the bed. 'Well, we are worried, we are a thousand years old. We've always been worried, being chased, we can't always act upset. Sometimes we just need to relax and have fun' Rebekah said. 'Why haven't you tried to do magic though?' Rebekah asked. 'I don't know. I feel like if I try to do magic I'll fail, I feel like I'm not powerful enough anymore' Davina exclaimed.

 'But you haven't tried, how can you be so sure?' Rebekah asked as she grabbed a chair and sat down. 'Maybe if you do try, it'll work' she shrugged. 'Probably. The last time I died and came back, in the harvest, I couldn't do it. I don't know if I can now' she said and Rebekah nodded. Davina stood up from the bed and walked around the room. 'How can I help with Esther if I'm completely powerless? What if she comes after me, how will I be able to protect myself if I can't do magic? Is she just gonna kill me again?' Davina asked. Rebekah just listened to her, she knew that Davina just needed someone to talk to. She let Davina continue without interrupting her.

 'And I can't tell Marcel because he'll get too worried, and I don't wanna tell Elijah because I don't want him to have my problems in his mind, and Josh well, the same thing with Elijah, he's been happy lately I don't want to ruin his mood' she said and she looked at Rebekah. 'You're not saying anything.' Rebekah shifted her position on the chair and looked back at Davina. 'I don't need to. Your problem is something that we don't know whether it's real or not. You need to try before you start worrying, Davina. I'm not saying that you have to try now. But do it at some point, and if it doesn't work, then you'll get worried. And as for the part that you can't protect yourself, Marcel and Elijah will both fight till their last breath before they let anything happen to you. You know that' Rebekah said and Davina nodded. 'Yes, they would.'
