ADDYLINE'S POV:

“ You know…I have been Vladimir’s housekeeper for nine years now, ever since he arrived from Russia. I never thought that he would get married, in fact he was so sure he would never get married. When I heard he was getting married I thought it would be to Amelia.” She finally spoke.

I didn’t know how to react to such a statement because I am not sure if she was happy about it. I only did what my unbothered mind could and that is to nod. A second after I had processed every word she said I frowned at the mention of an Amelia.
“ Who is Amelia?” I asked feeling a little more curious than before.

She then looked directly at me as she answered.

“ Amelia… Amelia Sadie is his girlfriend, well ex-girlfriend.” She informed.

“ Oh.” I just said trying to digest this piece of information which was something I already knew.

Amelia Sadie is one of the most gorgeous women in high demand as a model and rising fashion designer. She is a hundred times more striking than I could ever be. Distinct looks that could make every jaw drop, even those of women. Ginger hair with astounding peacock blue eyes and of course her body was fit for a high-class model.

I shook my head dumbfounded by this realisation. How is this possible? Is he really that narcissistic? He broke up with his jaw-dropping gorgeous girlfriend to get married to a blob like me just so he could get his inheritance. I am not only feeling stupid and used but I also feel bad for the young girl.

I was the reason behind her breaking up with Vladimir, that’s why he probably hates me so much. He doesn’t even know how to spend five minutes in my presence, probably because he is reminded of all the things he had to leave behind so he could get married to me.

I have been so selfish about all this. I know that he is the reason for me accepting this whole treaty but it is because of our parents that all this had to happen.

Before I could lose my sanity in self-pity, I reminded myself that I was with someone right now. I cleared my throat bringing my attention back to Yolanda.

“ Was....she, his true love?” I asked without thinking.

“ Huh?” She sighed confused.

“ Uhm, what I mean to say is, did you think she was the love of his life?” I corrected.

“Oh no...no not at all, she was his umm... What can I say? She was there, you know… She was there when he needed someone. Quite a girl with an attitude! I never really liked her but she took good care of Mr Slavich.” Yolanda admitted.

Even after hearing this I still don’t think it was right to have him leave his girlfriend just for this useless marriage. We were bound to break up and he might have lost a potential lover.

“ So How did you manage to steal the golden boy's heart?” She interrogated.

“ Golden boy?” I raised an eyebrow
“ Yes, every girl wanted to be his wife, girlfriend or lover. He was and probably still is gold to them, with all the riches and fame he has, every girl wants to be with him.” Yolanda informed.

“ Oh” I said still trying to wrap this information in my head…
Before I could say anything a sudden strong wind forced us to stand up and go inside. I didn’t want to sit anymore so I asked her to help me walk to the bedroom. I then asked for one last request, that she bring my supper before I go to sleep.

It was now eight in the evening and Vladimir was not yet back from work. In the few days I’ve lived here, he would usually be in the house by half-past six, even if he was working in his office at least it’s on the premises. I don’t want to be left alone in this huge house when the servants go to rest in their headquarters.
Sighing I lay on the bed with nothing but the ceiling to entertain me. I don’t want to overthink so I’m just going to go to sleep now. Yolanda was supposed to come back and take my unfinished supper then help me get to the bed, but since she was not coming back I will have to do it myself.
