"Dad..."

I looked to my daughter Tiana when I heard her voice. I immediately stop what I am reading and give her my full attention.

"What is it?" I asked. "Come here, Tiana."

She's still at the door, half of her body is peeking at my office while the other half is at the back of the wall.

My first daughter is in legal age now, time flies so fast, I can't believe that she's not my baby anymore. Our child that gave us the reason why I and Yusra get back together is now an adult.

Mabilis na humakbang si Tiana patungo sa akin. Humalik ito sa pisngi ko bago umupo sa isang upuan sa aking harapan.

May pag-aalinlangan sa mukha nito bago siya tuluyang magsalita. "I... I want to see my real parents."

I removed the glasses that I'm wearing after I heard what she said. Then look at her directly into her eyes.

"Wait! Dad! Let me explain first!" Hinarang nito ang dalawang kamay niya sa mukha ko. "I know Mommy will be hurt when she hears about it, Dad. That's why I'm asking you if you could help me tell this to her. I don't want to keep a secret from Mom and I don't want to hurt her. I just want to ask them w-why they left me and that's it. I won't associate with them after knowing the truth." Nagbabadya ang luha sa mga mata nito

"What are you feeling right now?"

"I am content with everything that I have now, I am happy that I found you and Mommy that will take care of me forever but Daddy, kahit anong pilit kong tanggi, there's a hole in my heart. There's a piece of it that wants to know the truth."

Ngumiti ako sa kaniya at lumapit sa tabi nito. "Your Mom will understand that. I know that you have a lot of questions on your mind and I am here, I'll help you, anak."

Doon sumilay ang napakalawak na ngiti ni Tiana. "Thank you, Daddy! You're the best!"

"And, you're the best too." I answered.

Tiana hugged me before she kissed me on my cheek. "Thank you so much, Dad."

"Anything for your happiness." Saad ko. "I'm going to fetch your Mom and your sister, do you want to come with me?"

"Sure, Dad! Let me fix myself first."

I nodded. "I'll get the car, I'll wait for you there."

Nauna na itong lumabas. I fixed my things first before I left the office and went to our room. Kinuha ko ang wallet at cellphone ko bago ako tuluyang lumabas.

I started the car while waiting for my daughter. It's been years since that incident, thankfully Tiana recovered from that night, hindi rin naging madali sa anak namin iyon. She underwent some therapy until she came back to us, to her old self, our cheerful daughter. Malaking tulong din noong nanganak si Yusra, she became happy and responsible to her sister kahit na minsan ay mas inuuna niya ang kapatid niya kesa sarili nito.

Tiarrah and Tiana were like twins, her sister Tiarrah loves her so much, she adores and admires her sister and I think Yusra and I did a great job raising both of them.

"Dad! I'm ready!" Sigaw ng panganay ko.

Ngumiti ako sa kaniya bago ito pinagbuksan ng pinto. She thanked me as she entered the passenger seat.

"Where are we going first, Dad?" Tiana asked.

"To your Mom." Sagot ko. "Do you bring her extra clothes, Princess?"

"Yup! She texted me." Ani niya. "Can't wait to see Mom, I missed her so much!"

"Me too." Saad ko.

Yusra was too busy to come home, tatlong araw itong nanirahan sa hospital dahil sa dami ng pasyente sa hospital. Kung hindi ko pa nga siya tinatawagan sa oras ng break niya ay baka nakakalimutan na nitong kumain.
