Daryl's P.O.V

"There ain't nothin' out 'ere but mosquitoes and ants."

"Patience little brother. Sooner or later, a squirrel is bound to scurry across your path," Merle replies.

"Even so, that ain't much food," I retort.

"More than nothin'."

"I'd have better luck goin' through one of 'em houses we passed back on the turnoff," I sigh.

"Is that what yer new friends taught ya? Hmm? How ta loot for booty?" Merle taunts.

"We've been at it fer hours. Why don't we find a stream, try loof fer some fish?" I suggest.

"I think yer just tryin' to lead me back to the road man. Get me over to that prison," Merle says.

"They got shelter. Food. A pot to piss in... Might not be a bad idea," I shrug.

"Fer you, maybe. Ain't gon' be no damn party fer me," Merle groans.

"Everyone will get used to each other."

"They're all dead. Makes no difference," Merle shrugs.

"How can ye be so sure?" I ask, narrowing my eyes at him.

"Right 'bout now, he's probably hostin' a housewarmin' party where he's gon' bury what's left of yer pals," Merle smirks.

I ignore him, knowing he's just being an asshole and tryna stress me out.

"Let's hook some fish. Come on," I reply.

Arielle's P.O.V

"Fuck you Daryl. Just leave like that... I miss you," I huff.

"You okay Ari?" Glenn asks, taking a seat next to me on my bed. I don't reply. "Ari, tell me. Come on," Glenn prods. "You've lost so much people in such a small time... I'm worried about you."

"Glenny... I don't know what to do anymore. Dad's losing it. We seriously could've used Tyreese's group. We need the people more than ever! But it's to late. They're gone, mom's gone, T's gone, Daryl's gone, Oscar's gone, dad's gone..." I sigh, starting to cry. "And I can't do anything about it."

"Hey! Hey now," Glenn starts, pulling me into him, "you tried with Oscar. You were there for mom's final moments. You don't need to do anything because you tried. That's all you had to do was try, you couldn't be there for T and Dary's just... Daryl. But you tried with everyone else and you can try with your dad and if it doesn't work, it doesn't matter."

"I miss you," I whisper.

"Who?"

"You," I say, pulling away from his chest.

"What do you mean..?" He asks, confused.

"Remember back at the quarry, how much time we'd spend together. Remember growing up together, then constantly skyping every 2 hours when you moved to Atlanta. All our DMC's and also the meaningless conversations we'd have for hours on end. I miss that. I miss us," I sigh, "I miss you."

"Well... I'm here. Always have been and always will," Glenn says, as he hugs me again. "I love you Aribear, forever?" He says holding up his pinky.

"And ever," I smile, joining my pinky with his. I lean my head on his shoulder, "I love you Glennifer."

"Alright, alright, way to ruin the moment Arielephant," he smirks, pushing me onto the bed.

"Oh nice one. How long did it take ya to think up that one smartypants? You callin' me fat now boy?" I reply, playfully glaring at him.
