Mission: LOVE ⚔️ (mikasa x reader)

You were right

"Hey Sasha! Mikasa!" You waved your hands in the air as the two of them turned to your direction, spotting you and Annie.

"Hey guys." Sasha smiled back as they were seated on benches outside of what you thought was a bakery.

Sasha was stuffing her face with bread, no surprise, while Mikasa sat with a straight face.

Mikasas facial expressions always worked no matter the occasion. She looked perfectly calm, while Sasha was too busy stuffing her face to even show any expressions. And you on the other hand? It was a mess. You were scared to talk, afraid of having a voice crack. Your palms were sweaty and your leg was shaking.

Now that the mission was in process you just felt all the pressure instantly.

But where was Eren?

"Can I...." You looked towards Annie as she looked at both you and Mikasa.

"Don't leave me with this idiot for too long." She said, allowing you and Mikasa to leave.

"Who you calling idiot?" Sasha said with her mouth full as Annie just stuck her tongue out at the girl before looking away in disgust.

"Where's Eren." You whispered to Mikasa as you were far enough from Annie to not raise suspicion.

"He's going to come when we leave. He'll pretend like he was passing by and just tag along. We'll be fine." Mikasa said as you sighed in relief at her last sentence.

'We'll be fine'

Mikasas voice roamed around in your head as your heart knew you'd actually be fine, with her by your side.

"Okay." You nodded before grabbing onto Mikasas hand, instantly letting go in embarrassment.

"My bad, just wanted to bring you back to them quicker." You said before turning without a second thought.

"Yeah." Mikasa responded as you felt a soft hand against the top of your head, her patting your head once before passing you and walking back to the table Annie and Sasha were at.

"Sorry guys." You faked a smile, hoping Annie would buy it, but she wasn't even looking in your direction. She didn't seem like she cared anyways.

"Tell this pig to calm down. She'll make the store go bankrupt." Annie said as she pointed to Sasha who was buying more bread from the store, you just rolling your eyes and Mikasa sighing.

"You wouldn't be able to live with her. I've dealt with it for almost 3 whole months alone." Mikasa said, knowing since you and Annie were in the military police, you didn't have to deal with Sasha and what she did at the scout base.

You giggled before Sasha came back to the bench and began nibbling on more bread.

The four of you made chit chat, but it was only really you talking and to make up a random conversation, and Sasha laughing and saying dumb things in between, with her mouth full.

Both Annie and Mikasa were quiet. It wasnt unexpected. They were both not very talkative, but you felt like they were onto each other and you were just struggling to play the innocent card and act like nothing was wrong.

"Ah im tired!" Mikasa yawned as she stood up from the bench before giving you the glare.

You knew exactly what time it was.

You would walk Annie down to a secret underground passage, and tell her it's a shortcut to the base. But Eren would meet you about there, and that will determine if Annie will go down with you all, or deny and you have your answer.

"Let's head back. It was nice seeing you guys!" You smiled before turning to walk, that being Sasha's cue.

"Let's walk you guys back. I want to be able to eat the rest of my bread before captain Levi takes it away from me." She smiled sheepishly as she held the bag of bread she would have for later. How much money did the girl blow on bread?

"Sounds good!" You answered before Annie could get a say, her following after you and the others because she didn't really have a choice.

"Eren?" Mikasa asked out loud as you turned your head towards the boy who was speed walking towards you guys.

"Hey! What are you guys doing here?" Eren asked as he stood next to Mikasa, you giving him a small nod.

"Had a little reunion and ate lots of bread!" Sasha smiled as you did as well.

"Well, she's the one that ate lots of bread." You replied to Eren, sounding very natural. You were glad this seemed legit.

"You mind if I join? I'd take Mikasa and Sasha  back to the scouts so you don't have to worry about it." Eren asked.

"They were actually taking US home. So there's no point." Annie said sternly as you felt stuck at that response. You never expected her to actually turn Eren down.

Luckily Mikasa had that possibility covered.

"He could just come half way, and then we go back and you two continue all the way back to the military police building." Mikasa suggested as you nodded.

"Yeah that'll be easier for all of us." You said as you turned to Annie who still held a straight face. But she wasn't going to say no. You knew she wouldn't.

"Alright let's go." Sasha smiled as she lead the way towards the underground tunnel, Annie staying close to you and as far away from Eren as possible.

You knew this was all part of the plan, but you still felt that hint of annoyance at Eren being next to Mikasa like that. Would he give her some damn space?

"It's just across here. Found out from captain Levi that there are underground tunnels from base to base. Pretty cool, right?" Eren said as he guided you all to the underground tunnel.

Your heart raced as you neared the tunnel, walking down the first step and waiting for Annie to follow you. She didn't.

"Well... Annie?" You asked with a hitch in your voice as the girl didn't continue.

"I think I'll go the other way." She said sternly as you walked back up the stairs to grab onto her arm.

"Why, Annie?" You asked as the girl looked from you to Eren.

"Let go of my arm." She said as you didn't let go, your heart racing at what you were prepared for.

"You're coming down here with us." Mikasa said with a deep voice as she grabbed onto Annie's other arm.

"Let go!" Annie stumbled at the two girls grasping onto her.

"What's the matter Annie? Just come down the tunnel with us." Sasha said, trying to sound concerned.

"LET GO!" She screamed as she violently pulled her arms away, you and Mikasa nearly falling back at the force.

"I'm done with bullshitting. Annie I know what you are." Mikasa said, you turning to her with a confused face as she went off script. Was she blowing it?

"Oh, really?" The girl giggled as you felt extremely uncomfortable with the laugh she was making. It seemed evil, somehow.

"(Y/n), why'd you bring me here?" Annie asked as you could feel yourself sweat.

"You're a titan." You said sternly, more sure of your answer than ever.

"Haha! So you dragged me out here for that?" Annie giggled as your cheeks turned red in embarrassing. Was she mocking you?

"Well, you might've been right. But it doesn't matter anymore." She said as your eyes widened.

"She's got a blade!" Eren screamed, noticing the same thing you did.

Annie used the blade to cut through the skin on her finger, making it bleed instantly.
