"Sammy, love?" You looked outside to which the girl was once again, standing still in front of the garden.
What is she doing?
And yet, you left it. And she continued to do it. For the whole week straight.
It was strange. You wondered if she was making that neutral face again. No smile, no frown, no nothing. Absolute emptiness.
If she wanted to talk, you were always there for her. So why was she being so unusual?
~
"Bye Sam" you smiled as you kissed the girl on the cheek.
She smiled before giving you a warm hug.
"Bye hun." She said as she opened the drivers seat door.
"Have fun at work!" You say loudly as the girl turned on the car, allowing the engine to be loud. She heard you, though, rolling down the window and waving out before pulling out of the driveway.
"I can't wait until she comes home." You sigh as you go back inside to get ready to clean up.
~
But she didn't come home.
It was almost time for your shift at work. Usually, Sammy would bring the car home for you to take it, she never messes this up. She knows you need to go to work.
It began getting dark outside as you became worried.
The clock would tick as you sat in your living room, dead silence ringing inside your ears as even the slightest crack of the floorboards made you burst up in nervousness.
"Is she okay?"
The next morning, you looked next to you. And of course, no Sammy. The possibility of her getting hurt was beginning to frighten you, anything could've happened.
You began to pace around your room before opening and closing drawers. Maybe she'd left a note. Maybe?
You were loosing hope as you were inches away from your home phone. Was this really worth a missing person report?
You had faith in Sammy. You knew either she lost track of time, she was going somewhere else and didn't tell you, or something bad happened. Those were the only options.
Fuck it.
"Hello?" You picked up the phone, anxiousness making your heart pound as the officer on the other line spoke.
"What's you're emergency?" The man asked as your heart began to race.
"My girlfriend is missing. She.. she left yesterday afternoon and hasn't been home since. She wouldn't just not come back." You said with panic in your tone as the officer continued to try to ask more questions.
"Her full name?" He asked as you stood blankly staring at the wall.
"Ma'am?" He asked as you still didn't know what to say.
"I... her name is Samantha... but I don't know her last name." You told the man through the phone.
Sammy never told you her last name. Now that you think about it, why did you know so little about a girl you've dated for a whole year?
"Ma'am there are many people with that name, you must be more specific." He told you as you tried to contain your cool.
"She... has blonde hair and freckles. She's about 5'6 and she was wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt." You tell the man as you hear a pen write on paper from the other end. The man writing down the information you were telling him.
"Okay ma'am we'll try to find the matching identity and send out a search team. Can I get your name please?" He reassured you as your heart was pounding in fear.
"(Y/n l/n) T-thank you." You stuttered as you shut the phone back into its holder before the man could even respond with a "thank you" or "we'll let you know".
You decided to go for a walk. Since you didn't have a car, you really had no options. You began to run in the direction of the police station.
An hour long of running and you were about to pass out. But the police station wasn't far, so you continued.
Opening up the door and nearly falling, you run up to the front desk, pushing people out of the way.
"Excuse me, excuse me!" You take their attention as they see you, clearly stressed, sweaty and tired.
"Is everything alright?" The woman asked as you shook your head.
"The missing report about the girl, Samantha, is there any news?" You say out of breath as the woman puts on her glasses and looks at the files she had to her left.
"Blonde hair, freckles?" She squints up as you nod furiously.
"Yes that's her!" you say as she nods, standing up and motioning for you to follow after her.
You basically run next to her in hopes of being closer to answers.
"(Y/n l/n), sit down please." A man said sternly as you sit in the empty seat in his office. The woman left and you were getting nervous.
"Is this her?" The man asked as he pushed a piece of paper towards you.
A picture of Sammy!
"Yes it is sir! That's her!" You say as his eyes widen.
"Your girlfriend?" He asked as you nod at the question. You wanted him to hurry the hell up and see if he found anything, even a trace.
"Samantha hallgreans" he stammers.
Was that her last name?
"I'm sorry to tell you this but she's a wanted criminal." He said with a deep tone as you looked into his eyes.
