"Mr. Jeon, Purple Paws called and asked if you could give them a call. Mr. kim said it's important." Jungkook's assistant told him as he went back from his break.

"Please call them back for me, I'll take it inside." He swiftly gets through his office door and waited.

The moment he sat in his chair, his office phone started blinking. He picked up the receiver and got Jin on the other line.

📞 <Phone Conversation>

JIN: "Hello Mr. Jeon? Thank you for calling back.

JUNGKOOK: "Yes of course, what is this about?"

JIN: "I have Aera here, she's actually the one who wanted to talk to you."

AERA: "Hey Jungkook, it's me Aera. I'm so sorry to bother you at work.

JUNGKOOK: "No problem. Is there something wrong?"

AERA: "I just want to know if Bam is okay. Miri got sick this morning and the last meal she ate was when we were at the pet cafe. I was thinking it might be the cookie dough. Since they ate same thing I'm just worried Bam might get sick too. How is he?"

JUNGKOOK: "He's actually doing okay. I'm checking him right now through my CCTV and I don't see him looking any different."

AERA: "Oh thank god! I was really worried it might be from the pet cafe and I instantly thought of Bam."

JUNGKOOK: "Thanks... so how's Miri?"

AERA: "Miri's resting in the exam room. We're just waiting for the on-call Vet to come. He's on his way now."

JUNGKOOK: "Everything's going to be okay. Just sit still and I'll be on my way there too."

AERA: "Oh... Jungkook you don't have to come..."

JUNGKOOK: "Aera, I know I don't have to but I really want to be there for you. So please don't tell me not to come."

AERA: "Okay..."

JUNGKOOK: "That's more like it... I'm there before you know it."

AERA: "Please drive safely..."

JUNGKOOK: "I will."

Jungkook was patiently waiting with you and Bam in the hallway. Dr. Min, the on-call vet was quick to get there and immediately proceeded with some tests.

"I'm not sure if it's the new routine or the apartment. Maybe the new dog treats I bought the other day..." You said sounding all worried.

"Hey this isn't your fault." He says in a whisper. He was hesitant to touch you but when you leaned your head slowly to his side, he openly gave his shoulder for you to lean on. In no time his arm was wrapped around your back while he softly caresses your hand.

While Jungkook was busy comforting you, Bam was pacing behind the door where he could smell Miri's scent. He almost wanted to jump on the door but he maintained his good behavior.

The time Jin opened the door to the exam room, Bam instantly slid in and went up to Miri's side. He was nudging Miri's face with his nose then licks her face eagerly.

"Dr. Min is ready to see you now." Jin said to you. "You might want to come too Mr. Jeon."

"Yeah of course..." He said as he assisted you to stand.

You're both surprised to see Bam already on Miri's side. You went to Miri right away and kiss her forehead, Bam never leaving her side. You pat Bam's head and went over to where Dr. Min gestured for you to sit.

Jungkook sat across you and gave you a reassuring smile. "Aera, good news... Miri is not sick, she's actually 3 to 4 weeks pregnant."

"I'm sorry, what?" You asked, looking clueless.

"She's been showing signs of pregnancy. I did a pregnancy test and she tested positive. We can schedule another visit for the ultrasound by next week."

"How can that be? I mean she has no history of being with another dog..." You ask, but seeing Dr. Min gesturing over Miri and Bam made you think twice. You look at Jungkook and he looks as clueless as you.

"I think I have a good hunch who the father is." He said with a smile, looking straight to Bam's direction.

Both you and Jungkook looked at Miri and Bam when Jin appeared in the doorway. "Affirmative Dr. Min, based on the CCTV footages, this couple came together several times starting 3 weeks ago."

You looked at Jungkook and he can't believe what he's hearing. "But I was always looking over them in the past weeks, both me and Namjoon."

"Except during their nap time Mr Jeon, am I right?" Jin asked.

Jungkook gives out a silent "Oh..." and slowly looked your way. "He's right..." Jungkook said, looking at you.
