Rya held Satos hand as she stared at the glass door, unwilling to open it. Electricity pulsed through her nerves and her mind raced trying to find the most likely possibility that would unfold if she opened it.
"Rya, it's okay. I'm with you." He squeezed her hand. "Heroes face what they're most afraid of." He told her.
"Okay," she looked up at her boyfriend. "I just can't breathe." She gulped.
"We'll do it together. It's okay." He pushed open the door and they walked through the halls. Immediately, students started whispering.
"How dare she show her face here." One of them said.
"Yeah, I guess she pushed Manoma in front of a moving car. She's crazy."
"Poor guy. She needs to be taught a lesson."
Paper balls were thrown at her along with all of the unkind words she could hear. Sato didn't let go of her hand, whatever she would go through, he would too. She had faced too much on her own already.
"Why is Sato even with her? Does he even know what she's done? I bet she turned on the tears for him and he turned to jelly."
Rya was doing surprisingly well, of course the words hurt a little but she must have gained some strength over the trip. They didn't bother her as much.
"God, she even looks crazy."
Rya chuckled at that one, crazy has a look? He looked down at her and laughed too. The whole thing was ridiculous, they didn't even know her. Wasn't UA supposed to be above all of this? Above all the idle gossip and rumors, the popularity? They reached their class and met Manoma at the door, his black faint but still evident.
"Good Morning, Manoma." She smiled. The blonde bully looked a little surprised. "How's that eye healing up?" She asked.
"You seem to have a spring in your step, Cry Baby Rye."
"I do. It's because I realized something, the only crazy one here is you." She shrugged. "You get angry with me when I told you that I liked you, followed me and stalked me while I was at a private school, and not to mention the little gangs you've formed to torment me."
"I'm not crazy. You're the crazy one o think I'd ever give you the time of day."
"We were in elementary school, get over it." She chuckled. "And you have given me the time of day. You've never stopped. You've never let me forget that day, reminding me that I was unloved, crazy and fat."
"You still are, Crybaby! You're still a pitiful sight to see. Why won't you leave me be?!"
Sato kissed her lips happily, she most definitely wasn't unloved, "See you later, Manoma." He ushered his girlfriend into the classroom but Manoma grabbed Ryas blazer, yanking her out into the hallway. He felt powerful as he threw her to the floor, her shoulders aching from the impact.
"Still a weak one." He laughed. Sato went to come to her rescue but she shook her head. She expected this to happen and she didn't want anyone to get hurt because Manoma had a problem with her.
"Why do you hate me so much?" She shouted.
"You disgust me, plain and simple. I don't have to have a reason to hate you. I just choose to because it's so easy-" his leg gave out and he fell to the floor. Rya stood up to look down at him. "What the hell are you doing?!"
"I remember now. I know why you hate me so much."
"What are you talking about?" He laid there, her quirk pushed him up against the floor, he couldn't move.
"We were in the lunch room when my quirk went off. I sent everyone flying into the air including you and before I ran for it, I saw your face." She stopped down. "You hated the fact that it started showing up. You thought you were going to have fun teasing me for a lifetime. You looked at me with pure jealousy."
"Why would I be jealous of your stupid power?" He seethed.
"It's because I don't have to touch you to make it work." Her quirk pushed harder against him, making him feel like there was a thousand pound weight upon his chest. "I finally had a defense over you and you were scared shitless. Even when I had my quirk, you conditioned me to think you were more powerful."
"Rya!" He shouted.
"All this time, I though it was because I used to like you." She looked into his scared eyes. "But you really hate me because you're afraid of me. All of the sudden, I became more powerful than you."
"Rya, please!" He gasped. She eased the pressure off of him and he wheezed air back into his lungs. "...you're still a monster. You just tried to kill me."
"Don't think I wasn't paying attention. I did that for a reason. It's exactly how you made me feel all those years. I hated you for it, now I just feel bad for you."
"Shut up!" He looked at her maniacally.
"Do yourself a favor, Monoma. Leave me be, I promise you won't win this time." She stood back up to go back into her class and he weakly got to his feet, trying to come at her again. He was grabbed by the collar of his blazer and thrown to the floor, just like Rya. Manoma looked to see an unlikely face staring down at him.
"Mess with her again and Ill kill you." Bakugo growled. "Get your own extra." He walked past Sato and Rya whose mouths were a gape from the display. He just defended her.
"Don't start thinking that we're friends now." He looked back at her, over his shoulder. "I just hate that guy's guts."
"Understood." She nodded, feeling an odd appreciation for Bakugo.
"Good." He smugly walked to his seat as the whole class shot him looks of amazement.
