Rya was at a loss for words. He loved her? Was she really worthy of his love? in the back of her mind, she wished he didn't say it only because it would make the goodbye even harder. She stared at him but snapped out of it when she realized she was taking too long to respond, "Oh my god, I love you too."
Sato chuckled nervously, "Are you sure? You looked like you had to think about it." He said. Rya shook her head and held his hand tightly.
"No, no. I was just surprised, that's all. I never thought those words would ever be spoken to me. I'm sorry, I was thinking too much."
Sato started laughing at her awkward self, she always knew how to accidentally ruin a moment, "okay. Let's try again, you nerd!" He regained his composure. "Look at me, Kitten. What do you feel for me?" He asked.
"...I feel so much. Every emotion is blessed with experiencing you. My fear over come by your bravery. My self hatred for your admiration. You were the first guy who ever called me beautiful. When I look at you I feel this warm, tingly feeling all over me. It's as if someone wrapped me in a warm blanket so I could feel safe."
Sato blushed red at her description, the flattery he felt was beyond what he could handle but he was loving every minute of it. "I feel safe and loved with you. So, Yes Rikido Sato. I love you."
"I just wanted to make sure with your awkward ass." He joked.
"Whose ruining the moment now, Huh?" She said, prodding his side making him jump, catching her hands. He held her tight and kissed her slowly and gently, savoring her taste. Rya felt at home in his arms again, she felt so small and fragile in his grasp, she loved it.
"You know what I feel like doing?" He asked.
"What?" She opened her eyes to gaze up at him.
"We haven't been on a proper date."
"Oh, why bother? You know I never cared about that."
"I do. I want to spoil you."
"But you're spoiling me now, silly." She giggled. He shook his head.
"You know what I mean, Kitten." He replied.
"Okay. Where would we go on this date?" She asked, poking his face, counting the freckles on his cheeks.
"Leave it to me. I want it to be a surprise."
"When will this date be, Huh?" She asked, still counting his freckles.
"Tonight." He smiled down at her. Not even bothered by her touching his face. "Just put on something that you think you look beautiful in."
"Awww!" She hid her face. "You're too cute to look at right now."
"What did I say this time?" He asked her.
"You'd rather me be confident in what I wear than what will impress you."
"I said all of that in one sentence?"
"Yeah you did. You're a sweetheart."
"Be ready by seven." He stroked her hair. "I already have an idea."
"Okay." She shifted in his arms. "I want to cuddle first."
"Oh god. I knew it." She rolled his eyes. "Okay, come on, kitten." They laid on the bed and cuddled for a few minutes.
Shoji paced his room back and forth, trying to figure out who could be their guardian. He searched his phone to call any family member that would help them out but to no avail. Everything seemed hopeless, no one wanted to take them in and take custody of them. He fumed, this wasn't happening. He promised his sister that they would be together from now on.
Why did it always effect the children more when it came to these matters? It was always the child torn apart when they tried to make things better for themselves! It wasn't fair, Shoji and Rya shouldn't be made to do anything they didn't want to do. They only wanted to stay together as a family since their parents failed to be around. As Mezo worked hard on their possible guardian, Rya got ready for her date.
She put on a cute T shirt dress that went down to her knees. She put on a pair of Vans and her cat beanie. She winged her eyeliner and took a purse with her before she met Sato in the common area. He wore a green collared shirt with black jeans. His hair was spiked and he smiled at her, enchanted.
"You look adorable." He said, hugging her sweetly.
"You look pretty cute too." Sh looked him up and down. "Where to first?"
"Let's go get some dinner." He escorted her out of the dorms and they walked to a restaurant he thought she would be happy to visit. It wasn't too long of a walk either, just ten minutes away. She held his hand as they crossed the roads and clung close to him when a breeze meant to chill her. They arrived at the location and Rya looked around, there were cats roaming around the area. "Is this a cat cafe?" She asked.
"Yes." He looked at her eyes lighting up, seeing how many were around her already. "I knew you'd like it." He got startled when a white kitten jumped upon his shoulder. "Hello, there." He pet the kitten on his ear. They were escorted to a table and given menus. Rya scanned the choices and Sato looked up at a kitten approaching them. "Hey Rya. This one looks like you when you're in your onesie."
She looked up to see a black cat with shiny green eyes looking up at her, "Mew!"
"Aww!" Rya melted hearing the high pitched sound. "Hello cutie." She picked him up and set him on her lap. "What's your name?" She checked the tag on his green collar. "Figaro. What a nice name."
Sato watched her as she played with the cat, he loved seeing her so happy and at home with being herself. He wished deep down that she didn't have to go.
