Before Sato could open his mouth to say anything, Aizawa woke up from his nap and the class returned to their seats. The class was dreary and no one had the energy to pay attention to the lesson. The Class seemed like a blur to everyone, the storm was pretty depressing. when class ended, everyone felt a little relieved. Rya was one of the last people out of the classroom and she walked by herself down the hallway.
"Hello there, Cry Baby Rye." Manoma seemed to pop out of no where, leaning on the wall.
"What do you want, Manoma?" She asked defensively.
"Ooh, such an attitude." He smiled, walking over to her. "i just wanted to say hello."
"No you don't." She spoke curtly. "You don't have a kind bone in your body. What do you want?"
"I just wanted to know why they would let fat, crazy blue haired trash into an elite school like this. Maybe you can help me solve the mystery."
"They let you in didn't they?" She shrugged. "Snobby, pretentious blonde assholes." She smiled at him, hoping the remark hurt.
"You've got some bite, I like it." He met her eyes. "You've become more fun to tease, you like to finally put up a fight."
"and I'll have much more fun humiliating you, just like you did to me all those years."
"I doubt that. You're too kind, that makes you easy to play around with."
"That says a whole lot about you. You're too evil, why are you trying to be come a hero when you'd be best suited as a villain."
Manoma retaliated by smacking her face, she was stunned. She held her cheek, was he really trying to make her relive her boarding school days? Suddenly, a large hand came plunging through the air over Rya's shoulder, punching Manoma right in the eye. The blonde boy recoiled in fear, holding his eye. Rya stood frozen, she didn't know what to do. The same hand that attacked him laid onto her shoulder gently, "Are you okay?" She heard Sato's voice. The fright from the ordeal made her shiver, he could feel her terror and he turned her towards him. He knelt down, meeting her ocean blue eyes, "I'm here, okay. Let's go home." He took her hand and led her out of the school. Manoma screamed some nasty comments but Sato didn't react, he had to make sure Rya was okay.
The rain poured down, matching the fall of her tears perfectly. Lightning lit up the sky and thunder growled ferociously. Mezo paced back and forth at the front window, waiting for his sister to arrive. The rain came down so much that it was hard to see. Steam from the warm earth made a fog when it combined with the cool rain. He could finally see Sato escorting Rya back to the house.
She was met with her brother wrapping her up in a towel, "What took you so-" he looked at her face to see a purple bruise forming on her cheek. "What happened?" He asked looking at Sato.
"Manoma hit her."
Mezo's heart thundered with rage, getting up to leave the house but Sato and a few other boys stopped him, "Don't, Mezo. That's exactly what he wants is to fight you." Sato told him.
"I'm going to kill him!" He fought back the guys blocking the doorway.
"Stop this, if you fight him, you'll get expelled and you won't be able to protect Rya!" Deku shouted.
"Izuku is right, be with your sister." Sato brought him back to reality and looked at his sister, clearly uncomfortably quiet. She approached Sato, hugging him. He accepted it wholeheartedly, not even shocked.
"Thank you for being there, Sato." She gave him a grateful expression, her eyes sparkling with tears. She looked at her brother, "I'm going to bed. It's been a long day."
The room silently watched as she left and made her way down the hall. Mezo and Sato shared a look, "you were there? Tell me you did something?"
"What do you think?"
Shoji sighed thankfully and nodded, "Thanks man."
"Anytime."
The whole house was full of anger after knowing what had happened to Rya, why was Manoma targeting her all of the sudden? It didn't seem fair and the whole class went to bed that night, promising themselves to look out for her. She was one of them now and she deserved the protection.
Shoji sat down on the couch, exhausted from the anger that threatened to burst out from him, Sato sat with him. "I think it's about time you tell me what's going on." He told him.
"You don't need to know-"
"I'm involved already, tell me now." Sato didn't want any excuses.
Shoji sighed and his head dropped, "Our parents sent her to boarding school because she hurt someone at her old school. She didn't mean it but it made the school expel her. They placed her in the school to give her a fresh start but Manoma was attending the school too. She just told me yesterday that he led the whole taunting. That's all I know. There's so much she says but she leaves so much out too. It's like she's ashamed of herself for existing."
"When did she stop going to the boarding school?" Sato asked.
"She's actually supposed to still be there but I wasn't going to see my little sister suffer anymore. The application came in the mail and I wrote a letter telling the school she'd be attending UA. I forged their signature and everything."
"Your parents don't know?"
Shoji shook his head, "they don't need to know. I'm more of a parent to her than anyone. I should have the right to do what's best for her."
"I agree but what happens if they find out what you did?"
"I'm planning on emancipation. Both me and Rya separated from the authority of our parents. We're of age now, it's legal. Rya can pick who she wants as a guardian and everything."
"You really love your sister. I don't think any of my siblings would do that for me. You do so much for her."
