Sato looked at her, taken aback from the look he received from her. She never looked at him like that before. "Rya, please. It's going to be okay." He told her calmly. He was scared to death, he didn't know what would happen in her state. He only wanted her to calm down and breathe, this wasn't good for her to keep riding the wave of her panic.
"Sato is right, Rya. You're going to hurt yourself if you keep going like this!" Mezo yelled over the howling winds. Rya shook her head and screamed helplessly, the winds getting too strong for either of them to bear. Aizawa came racing in, his eyes glowing red and hair standing on end.
The objects in the room suddenly dropped with a crash, leaving a hyperventilating Rya. Sato came to her, hugging her warmly only to be pushed away. He looked at her heartbroken, he didn't expect that reaction and it gave him a stabbing feeling in his heart.
"Why do you like me?!" She cried, looking at him red faced and tears streaming down her cheeks. "I'm nothing! I'm trash!"
"Now, hold on a minute Rya-" Mezo approached her too.
"No, don't protect me! Don't touch me! Don't come near me! I don't deserve all of this, let me be!" She panted feeling as if the air was getting thinner. She couldn't stop it, nothing could stop it. Mezo heard her phone ding again and he picked it up, his face grew pissed and handed the phone to Sato, showing him what she was so upset about. He knelt down in front of his sister, hugging her in his webbed arms. She struggled of course, not wanting the compassion and love to sink in and calm her nerves. She wasn't worthy of it.
"I love you, Rye." He told her.
"Why? Why do you love me when the whole world says I'm nothing?"
"UA isn't the whole world, Rya." He calmly spoke. "I love you because you're worthy of it, you know that."
"My head, it hurts." She cried. "It hurts so much."
"Shh..." Mezo kissed his sisters forehead. "You need to calm yourself, Rya. Remember what I told you?"
Her brother had gone through many of her panic attacks, he instructed her one day that if she couldn't control her breathing and nothing else helped, she should sing. Singing a song she loved helped her come back to a breathing pattern that was calmer.
"Sing for me, Rye." He told her sweetly. Rya looked over at Sato, remembering she had pushed him away so suddenly. He looked hurt but more concerned for her well-being than anything else. He nodded to her, encouraging her to sing too.
"Stars shining bright above you, night breezes seem to...whisper...I love you." She sang in between gasps.
Aizawa hanged back, watching his students take care of the situation on their own. He was proud of them. He gave her back her quirk, seeing that she was calm enough to have it again. "Birds singing in a sycamore tree, dream a little dream of me..."
"That's it Rye...keep going." He told her.
"Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you, sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you. And in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me..."
"There you go, Rya." He let her go, laying her down on the bed. "Get some sleep. We will sort this out in the morning." He told her. She nodded, wincing from her aching head. Sato stood up, leaving the room without a word. Rya didn't blame him, he had emotions too. He probably felt rejected in the cruelest way, she didn't mean it.
They closed the door and looked at their Sensei, "Sorry about that Mr Aizawa." Mezo apologized.
"Don't be sorry. Both of you handled that very well, I'm proud of you." He gave them a look of appreciation. "I will have to talk to the three of you, what happened?"
"Well, it looks like she has received some harassing texts on her phone from unidentified numbers. One of them might be Manoma but we aren't sure." Mezo handed him her phone that he had swiped from her room. She didn't want her to look at them anymore.
"Okay, does she have panic attacks like this often?" He asked. "Why is Manoma involved in this?"
"It's a long story, Sir." Mezo told him.
"I'm up, I guess we have all night." He addressed the two boys and beckoned them to come with him. For the longest time, Rya only told a chosen few what she was going through so she wouldn't feel like a cry baby. This time it was getting worse and her brother was too irate to let it go this time. He told his Sensei everything, Sato told him what he knew as well even though it was very little. At the end of the conversation, he nodded and looked at the two of them, "I have an idea, Something to help Rya. It's not something I normally do but I think she needs it along with any other student that may feel this way."
"Okay. Do you need us to do anything?"
"Just be ready by six in the morning. We need to start early, wear something warm. I'll let the rest of the class know tomorrow. We will be outside all day and won't come back until the lesson is finished."
The boys looked at him curiously, what did he have in mind? What was the lesson that he cooked up on the spot? The Sensei sent them to their rooms while the rest of the class were beginning to settle down again in their beds. It was finally quiet. Sato stopped in front of Ryas door, still hurt from the way she reacted to him. Of course he knew that it was in the heat of the moment and she wasn't herself either but it still devastated him.
