A week and five days has since passed.

Kurenai and I have gotten closer. She has a daughter with the late Sandaime's son, Asuma Sarutobi, who had sadly died before the the war.

She was hesitant at first to talk about her life but eased up when she realized how well we bonded and how much her little girl enjoyed my company. She still is keeping to herself little details since the wound is still fresh and I do understand where she is coming from.

But Mirai is such a cute ball of energy, always making me smile and filled with happiness. She has been the reason my sanity remained intact all week. Her tiny self didn't realize the big impact it made on me. I owe this little girl my life.

Kurenai has showed me around the village and by now I have familiarized myself with most of the roads, parks, shops and restaurants. Almost everything.

Not only that but she has taught me about the history of Konoha, the Shinobi and Kunoichi's, the past and recent war's and the sacrifices that were made. All the important factors of the village I needed to know. I was truly amazed. My appreciation for these brave Men and Woment sky rocketed.

It was a hectic week as Kurenai had to babysit Mirai and my adult self. But this amazing woman managed. Her babysitter was sick, and so here she was juggling work and babysitting.

That being said; All throughout this week not once did Kakashi made effort to meet me. Heck I don't even know what the man looks like. It was frustrating to say the least.

I thought he might've been avoiding me but Kurenai reassured me that Kakashi was a busy man. With looking after a team, working with the ANBU and being by the Hokage's side. I dare not complain as I did not want to be painted as that type of woman.

I sighed as I whispered to myself, "today is Friday, and Monday is my wedding day yet I haven't even met the man I'm marrying!"

I laughed and shook my head. Just then Kurenai spoke up;

"Lady Mai please forgive me when I say this, but Mirai and I are requested to visit her Father's family today, and so I'm asking if I can step aside-,"

"You don't need to explain and apologize Kurenai,"

"I can escort you back home-,"

I cut her off mid sentence.

"That won't be necessary. If I am to spend the rest of my life here, I'll need to familiarize myself with the place. So thank you for the offer but I'd like to take a look around myself," I said as I beamed a smile.

Kurenai had a worried look but nodded. She knew what I said was true, but the idea of being alone and going around by myself worried her.

"Kurenai I know the sensory division keeps tabs on me, I will be fine!" I said as I reassured her.

"Fine Lady Mai," she said as she smiled and went her way waving back.

I already knew where I wanted to go. The Park!

I just wanted to sit down on the park bench, enjoy some snacks and watch the children filled with energy play and enjoy their free will.

So I got dango's and fresh lemonade as I made my way there.

*Time skip to the park*

I sat myself down on the bench as I started snacking and watching these children play, laugh and enjoy themselves.

I laughed at their games and snarly comments to each other when they disagreed. All this brought me happiness.

I was startled and choked on a dango as I heard someone above me clear their throat.
