Chapter 57: Fear

*Kakashi's POV*

"Mai what the heck do you think you're doin-,"

"He won't listen to anyone except me, Kakashi... I-, Sakura told me about the things he's done to other woman!"

"Mai-," She didn't let me finish,

"I get it you're the Hokage, but whatever this man has in mind-,"

"We don't even know the man!" I said as I clenched my fists.

"He's telling the truth, I can sense it... looks I've managed to harness a little bit of my power's, I can take care of my-,"

"I promised to take care of you, how can I do that if you're jumping head first like this... Mai I don't want to put you through another traumatic experience!...I-, I can't lose you!"

"You won't my Love!" She said in a soft tone.

I put my head in my hands as I shook it. I knew she had already made her mind up.

This was what she wanted.

I had to break the news to Asami. He was returning from his mission tomorrow.

*Time Skip*

Asami arrived before noon. He was badly injured. I accompanied him to the hospital.

Lady Tsunade wasn't available so I had Shizune take care of him.

The awkwardness between the three of us.

"How's Mai and Kushina doing Kakashi?" Shizune said breaking the silence.

"She's back to her normal self and Kushina is all well!" I replied as I pulled out my book to read. Distracting myself really.

"Excited to meet your niece Sami?"

"Don't call me that!"

"Right Lord Asami!" she said as finished off and walked towards the door.

"Hey, so what-,"

"You can either stay here or rest at home, you're all fine!" Hurt was evident in her voice.

"Shizun-,"

"I have other patients to take care of Lord Asami, you're well now, I'll send a nurse to tend to you!" She said as she walked out.

"I can't even make things right with her... how can I face my sister!" He said as he easily laid back.

"Mai is hurt but she loves you. You're her only brother, you've been by her side longer than I have!"

"Go and apologize, she'll be mad but will forgive you, plus the boys miss you, and you need to meet Kushina!"

His eyes lit up.

"Let's do this!" He said.

*Mai's POV*

The boy's are with my Father at the Feudal Lord's residence. With Akira as his help.

My Mother with Kushina at our place. She was over joyed with our latest addition. She wouldn't let me near my own child. It was too sweet.

I definitely needed all this during my recovery stage.

The extra help was indeed a much needed blessing.

"Mai!"  Kakashi called out.

"In the kitchen!" I said as I took a sip of my tea.
