Chapter 7: The Day has Finally Arrived

*Mai's POV*

"My Lady, are you awake, it's already 7am!?" Saya asked as she slowly walked into my room and fixed up the curtains.

She turned around to see me sitting in the middle of the bed legs crossed.

"It's finally the day my beautiful girl!" She said as she lead me into the bath area to start grooming me for the occasion.

*Time skip to 4 hours later*

Four hours went by just like that.

Faint sounds was all I could hear as I faded in and out of conscienceness.

"Always remember that you are beautiful",

"Only speak when you are spoken to",

"Remember your status, you are not like other girl's, you are a prestigious young lady, you are the only daughter and face of The Richest Feudal Lord in the Land of Fire",

"Your child will inherit a hefty sum of riches, you must be with child soon" ,

I dazed out just staring at myself in the mirror.

A wedding day is supposed to be the most happiest and emotional day for any woman.

Yes I was emotional, but not in the happy sense.

I have never met this man in my life.

Not once did they consult me, but who am I to kid, this should be a norm, considering they have been doing this since the moment me and my brother took our first breath's

I could see the sadness in Asami's eyes. He tried to keep a straight face, but once he stood behind me he couldn't contain it.

My brother, my best friend, the only other person I trusted.

He put his hand on my should, and stuttered trying not to burst out crying, "I'm sorry... you look beautiful as ever little sister", he said as he choked between his words.

I bowed my head, hiding my tears and making sure my make up isn't ruined.

All I could mutter was "t-thank-kk youu."

My heart ached, I just wanted to be a little girl again. Running and playing around the hallways of our manor. Just me and my brother. No care in the world. But here I am, 23 year's old, going head first into an arranged marriage.

I heard my Father's voice as he walked in. Heavy footsteps walking towards where I sat.

"My Dear you are going to do the greatest sacrifice, ensuring the The Leaf Village that our ties are still strong, bonding it through marriage. Not many have your courage, I will forever be Proud of you!"

My heart sank!
I don't know whether to be happy or sad.

He reached his arm out. Letting me know it was time.

I forced a smile and took his arm, as he ushered me out. We walked through the aisle.

I could hear multiple gasps. And yet I blocked out all surrounding sound and whispers. All while staring at the floor hiding under my thick veil. I have to make sure nobody saw my broken and shattered soul.

As the alter came close, I took a deep breath.

This was it...My Father let go of my arm as soon as we reached the bottom of the alter. I slowly made my way to my soon to be husband. Gaze still stuck to the floor.
