Chapter 15: The Mission

"Kakashi..., Kakashi,"

"Wake up sleepy head,"

He heard as he struggled to open his eyes.

"Hey you, it's 6am."

"Go freshen up and come have breakfast with me before you leave," she said as she kissed his forehead and walked away.

He watched as her perfect figure only in her underwear walked away.

The frustration this caused him.

After getting ready he came down and they had breakfast in comfortable silence.

*Mai's POV*

"Open this when the gates of Konoha are out of sight." I said as I gave him a tiny box and walked into the kitchen with our plates.

I was doing the dishes when I felt him him hugging my waist from the back. He rested his lips on the back of my neck as he nuzzled his face in my hair and gave me small kisses.

"I'm going to miss this," he said as he spun me around.

Once facing him he pulled me into a kiss. His lips explored mine as I let him have his way.

After what seemed like an eternity, we pulled apart. Foreheads resting against each other.

"I'll see you soon beautiful," He said as he caressed my cheek.

"Get the job done and come home to me!" I said I put my hand on his chest.

We let go of each other as he got his stuff and made his way out.

I watched as he left. An overwhelming feeling of sadness creeped in.

I am truly in love with this man. Head over heels is an understatement. The thought of him going on this dangerous mission scared me.

I had just started life with this man. I need more time.

I was thinking too much. I decided to visit Kurenai and Mirai this evening after work to get my mind off things.

*Kakashi's POV*

I've never had this feeling. I knew it was because of her.

She believed in me and wants me to succeed. Now is not the time to mess up.

I headed to the gates as I waited for the other's to arrive.

Not long I spotted Naruto, Genma and Shikamaru walking back into the village.

At the same time all 11 men arrived in mask.

"Kakashi Sensei, what's going in here?" Naruto asked as he ran towards us.

"They're on a special mission!" A stern female voice answered.

"Lady Tsunade," we all said as we bowed.

"Once you've sorted yourselves out please leave!" She said as she disappeared.

Genma nodded at me as he and Shikamaru dragged away Naruto.

Genma. Once I come back, me and him need to have a talk.

"Hatake!" Someone called out.

It was Asami.  He took off his mask as he walked over to me.

"Thank you for looking after my sister!"

I had a feeling he was following us last night, but this just confirms it.

*Mini time skip*

We made our way through the forest. Once the gates were out of sight, I took out the small box from my pocket and opened it.
