Chapter 37: The Situation

*Third Person POV*

She felt tears trickling down her cheeks. But she had no regrets. She protected her little boys and that was the only thing that mattered.

At that moment she didn't care if she died. The only reason she cried was because she didn't say goodbye to her boy's and husband.

The kunai made a tiny cut on her skin. She just wanted to get this over and done with. She knew she wouldn't be alone in the afterlife.

"My my my great sacrifice Lady Mai!" Kotono said to her as they appeared in an empty field.

He came face to face with the defenseless woman. Then he saw something he thought he'd see again. The same look his wife had before she died.

He brushed the thoughts aside. He was going to kill her regardless.

"W-why are you doing this?" She said in a hushed tone making sure not to tick off the angry man.

Everything she was doing right now was the exact same his wife was doing moments before her throat was slit open.

As he kept staring at her, he knew he couldn't do it. When his wife was killed he promised himself he'd stay away from violence. And yet here he was about to take this innocent woman who just brought two new lives into this world out of this world the same way they did to his wife.

He pictured his wife and how he was in her killers position and at that moment he lowered his kunai.

He couldn't do it.

In an instant all if them disappeared and appeared in what looks like a hide out.

"GET OUT!!" he screamed to everyone.

Everyone quickly scrambled their way out. The Lady still stood in front him.

She knew something was wrong with the way he was staring at her. The earlier look was no more. She didn't see rage, she saw a broken man.

She felt bad for what she was about to do but if she wanted to survive and hopefully make an escape she had to do what needs to be done.

She slowly walked towards him closing the space between them. He still didn't lower his kunai. She carefully moved it. Before he knew it she embraced him. For the first time in decades he felt the warmth of being held.

The kunai dropped and he held her back. He needed this hug.

*Mai's POV*

He stood facing me , sadness was in his eyes. I didn't know if he realized it but he kept mumbling the name Miko.

I slowly walked towards him. This could go two ways with one ending up with me dead. As I git closer he still hasn't moved. The next thing I knew I hugged him.

I expected to be met with a hit but instead I heard the kunai hit the marble floor. He hugged me back.

He was just a broken man and I felt bad for playing with his feelings. But if I even wanted to keep any hope alive to ever see my boys again I had to play the part.

"Kotono-san," I said as I as i looked up and cupped his face.

"You might not see it but I'm here for you," I said as he hugged me back tighter.

After a few minutes of embracing, we let go if each other.

"I'm not going to kill you!" He said,

*Kotono's POV*

Her touch was all I need to feel. I wanted this woman for myself. I need her.

As of this moment I had decided that she would be mine.

As we let go I saw the light in her eyes again.

Miko is this your way of telling me this is woman is the one.

"I'm not going to kill you!" I said to her.

She gave me a small smile. I knew the situation we were in wasn't ideal but I wanted her for myself. Traumatizing her and torturing her was not the way to go about things.

"Follow me," I said as I walked in front of her.

She intwined her fingers with mine.

"I'm still weak Sir," she said.

Her hand was soft and warm. I didn't even have time to think but next think I knew I picked her up bridal style and carried her to a completely furnished room.

A king sized bed, furnitures, own kitchen, bathroom and balcony.

"This room is ours!" I said as I placed her down in the bed.

"Thank you Sir," she said she laid down.

She looked heavenly. I knew she needed to heal and recover.

What better revenge then make her mine.

I wanted her and she is going to be MINE!

*Kakashi's POV*

With every growing second I became more frustrated.

As I stared into my boys' eyes I felt broken. They had her eyes.

Asami and I made our way to Izumo's house.

We walked in and were taken back by the sight.

Blood splatter everywhere. It looked like a horror scene. Gruesome couldn't even compare.

"Izumo!" I called out.

I heard a small groan in the corner of the room. I ran over to see Izumo struggling to grip on to dear life.

"Asami, we need to get him to the hospital, get Shizune and Lady Tsunade!"

We grabbed him and flash stepped to the hospital. He is a fighter. He clung on the last remaining threads of life.

As the he was being taken away I saw him finally relaxed.

They must've discovered that he was the one giving us first hand information.

An hour or so passed, Lady Tsunade came out and told me to go inside. Izumo had something important to tell us. Asami followed in suit.

He was in bad shape. Bandages and bruised all over. Yet somehow he managed to be awake. The raw strength of this man impressed me.

"Lord Sixth what I'm about to tell you will hurt you. I'm..."

The was a long pause. I nodded signaling him to continue.

"He's not going to kill her, he's planning to take her and make her his. He wants Lady Mai to be his woman!"

My whole body shook! Anger consumed me, I gritted my teeth.

"Over my dead body!"
