"He's My Best Friend."

Thoughts

Maia was getting ready for school and still had the break up in her mind. It was in her head because she had feelings for Josh and he was a great guy.

Maia was getting a ride to school in the morning and Jill was walking by herself. As her mom was driving Maia to school she looked to the side on the sidewalk and saw Jill with David walking. Of course she thought.

She got to school earlier and then started standing with Jill and David. David was telling Maia about his family having an odd conversation at dinner.

Jill went to class early and it was Maia and David. He was making sure she was okay with the whole situation. He meant it when he was there for her and Maia really appreciated how they could talk and help each other.

“Want to skip class?” David asked.

“Yeah, I’m not feeling like vocals today and it’s not like were doing much,” Maia said.

They went outside; it was still early in the morning so they couldn’t go anywhere except just walk around.

David was telling Maia about how crazy his big family was. He had a close relationship with his mom and then Maia was talking about her family.

“Your mom seems so nice,” David said to Maia.

“Thanks, she is pretty nice,” Maia admitted.

David hasn’t exactly met Maia’s mom but they have seen each other and had a quick talk but he has never met her dad and Maia hasn’t seen his mom and dad.

“So are you closer with your mom then your dad?” Maia asked.

“Yeah that’s for sure,” David said quietly.

“Why’s that?” Maia asked.

“Oh, just reasons,” David said quietly not really wanting to get into that.

Maia looked at her phone and was talking to Josh as friends but here and there Josh would still bring up their relationship and how he loves her for several reasons.

“Look,” Maia showed David some messages.

“Wow he doesn’t stop does he?” David said.

“It’s sweet but I can’t really say anything to it,” Maia said.

Maia and David continued walking and saw some other people from school. Clearly they were also skipping class. They didn’t say much but hi.

“So, I actually never knew. Do you play any instruments or into anything like that?” David asked Maia.

“I like dramatic arts. I also would love to play the guitar if I knew how. How about you? Other than piano,” Maia asked.
