Longer paths assure you
So, you prefer it
You're provided with lots of time
To think
To reminisce
To reflect
Hence assuring a feeling
Yet sometimes a thought too
But I was impatient
I did not prefer longer paths
Long trails were enough
Better yet small lanes
Nonetheless
This was the way you wanted it;
Long.
Longer paths amuse you
Because it lets you construct stories you want to share
It lets you build up the courage to say things like
"I love you" or
"I miss you"
Or even just something of the like
Which always pulled you back
So longer paths amuse you more
But I was impatient
And I would have rather hear it all right away
I want to be surprised of the I love you's and I miss you's
But you wanted to take longer paths.
The longer paths taught me how
I rushed all things in life
Because of impatience
And the craving of love I was deprived of
The longer paths taught me that
Slow relationships
Are the steady ones
It's not something that you could describe like the wind
Which came so fast
And left so swiftly.
The longer paths made me remember
What it was like to love someone
Who treasured me and took care of me
The butterflies, the chills, the goosebumps
They all came back
But today it was a whole damn zoo
It was like a first love type of thing
But it wasn't
Because you're my greatest love.
The longer paths showed me
That the words "I love you"
Are not just common ones
It's a sentence that must be earned
Developed
And cherished
It's not something you just say
It's something you feel
It's not meant to be rushed
It's meant to be valued
So I'm on my way to longer paths
To learn more about love with you.
