You didn't have to call
Or even speak,
At all.
The silence was enough
To hear the echoes of my misery
It's not the crying that's so loud
But the thoughts running inside my head.
The distance between us was enough
To long for you and miss you
You were so close that we could touch our hands
Yet so far too to let our hearts graze.
Those deep small eyes were enough
To see through the covered chest
Those eyes were the ones that once admired me
Now you don't because I'm no different than the rest.
Those quiet lips were enough
To hear what you're thinking
You don't love me anymore
And I hear it stab my heart through.
The way you left swiftly was enough
To let me know what I'm worth
And to kill me
Just a million devastating times.
