Hayley took in a deep breathe as she and Xan stood a few feet away from the platinum haired boy, who had his hands behind his back while his 'friends' were listening to him with thoroughly bored expressions.

She turned to look at Xan who had an expression which said 'Well you did agree to talk'. She shook her head and tried to make herself look cool and calm. She walked briskly upto him and spoke,

"Can I have a word with you Malfoy? "..... " Alone, " She added quietly,

"Well if it isn't my favourite first years, " Draco drawled, Hayley bit back the urge to comment that he was just an year older than them. On her side she could see Xan fighting to control a snort.

"So, any progress in information?" He asked,

"About that, to who all have you talked about this?" Hayley asked,

"Just a handful of people, why?" He replied as his eyes peered into hers,

"Well if those people, share this with others, and then those others share it with even more people, the other houses will know, and so will Potter, this will make the whole thing pointless," she said looking at Malfoy, he looked slightly convinced, which meant she just had to talk to him more in order to make him agree,

"Also this morning, Pansy came an inquired me about this infront of everyone," she exaggerated,

"And not to badmouth her, but you cannot trust something like this with Pansy, the next thing wee see,the whole school will know, I mean I'm not telling you to not tell her, but atleast tell her to not talk about this to anyone atleast till we have some shade on Potter," she rambled, hoping Draco came into the lure,

The boy stayed quiet for sometime and said, "I can do that, I'll tell her and the others, meanwhile you both keep doing your job",

"Keep this encounter from Pancy won't you?" She asked doubtfully, "I will," he replied,

Hayley let out a mental sigh knowing she could put this thing to bed for atleast know. As they were walking away, Draco called for Xan. Xan sighed before turning to se the older boy.

"I heard your family is throwing the Christmas Gala this year," Draco said as he sat in the dark green furniture, "Yes, " Xan replied slowly,

"You're going?" Draco asked,

"It's not like I have a choice," Xan mumbled, loud enough for Hayley to hear.

"What did you say?" Draco asked, "I said I'm going, how about you?" Xan covered up,

"I would go, but I have some work to be done here, things to know, people to find," he said with a smirk. Xan nodded at him before turning his heel away.

"So that's what the letter was about? You are going home for Christmas," Hayley said,

"That's not such a bad thing, " She continued,

"Ohhh it is! " Xan said with a pretentious laugh,

"I will have to smile the whole night, till my cheeks hurt, talk to people who don't give a damn about me Or I about them, and pretend as though I'm having the time of my life,"

"Does it sound bad yet? " He added, while Hayley just stared at him,

"Usually mum and dad let me off, but this time the party is at my house, so I have to be there to greet everyone and I can't sneak off, " He said,

"Wow rich kids too have problems, " Hayley said with a smirk to which the boy rolled his eyes.

"Alright I'm going to see Snape, to withdraw my name from the list of people staying here for Christmas, " Xan said,
