The group was much happier as they approached the neighborhood. Narzo started to pull up on the house. They immediately saw that window in the front was broken and the front door was wide open. Star's ears perked up. "Shit, someone broke in." She cursed. "Let me out!" She barked at Narzo. Phoenix looked highly confused and started texting someone as the car stopped.
Trippze looked up, got out, then ran inside and started squeaking. Firetail rushed and had his gun drawn with Blacklight right behind him. After Star hopped out the others weren't far behind.
Once they opened the door, Gluzze came running down the stairs crying. She was covered in bruises and was bleeding a bit. Blacklight picked her up. "Hey, it's okay, we're here now." She said. Firetail noticed the basement door was open and ran over to it, going down with his gun still drawn.
Azreal picked Trippze up, holding him tight to him with one arm and with the other summoning Trivia. Star went upstairs to check the rest of the house with Phoenix right behind her, fur smoking. Trippze looked at Gluzze then looked at the open basement door and started to growl, trying to wiggle out of Azreal's grasp.
"DAMNIT!" Firetail shouted from the basement. Gluzze whimpered and dug her head into Blacklight's chest. "Hey, it's ok, where is your fox?" She asked. Gluzze pointed to a pillie of stuffing on the floor. "Oh no," Blacklight said as Firetail stormed back up with a note in his hand.
"What is it?" Star growled, on edge. The two hadn't seen anything upstairs. Azreal held into Trippze tighter. "No; I don't want you getting hurt either." He said, walking over to Firetail. Trippze squeaked, mad.
"It was the damn cartel, they stole their drugs back." Firetail said. "It's been years, they should have forgotten about those." Blacklight said as she walked over to Pheonix. "Can you hold her for a minute?" She asked, not waiting for a response before passing her Gluzze.
She nodded, obviously worried. She sat down on the couch. "Hey, it's okay, I'm so sorry we left you alone." She murmured. Az growled, loosening his grip. "So they're gone, but they know where we are? And obviously have known for a while now?" He clarified.
Trippze was able to get out of his grip and went over to Phoenix. Gluzze hugged Pheonix and contiuned to cry. Phoenix knelt down for Trippze could see Gluzze. "I wish we had Galaxy here..." she mumbled, looking at her wounds. Trippze squeaked at Gluzze and hugged her.
"Yeah..." Firetail mumbled. Azreal shook his head. "What do we do about it?" He asked. He was honestly tired of all this fighting. He was mad, but he wasn't ready to go chase after anyone. "We repair damges and get Gluzze better." Firetail replied.
"And if they come back?" Az asked, ear flicking in annoyance. "They most likely won't." Firetail said. Phoenix looked up, glancing around. "Someone go get the first aid kit." She said. Star nodded and headed to one of the bathrooms. She came back with the kit and some hydrogen peroxide.
Eventually Gluzze started to calm down. Blacklight walked over to Star. "I'll be back, I'm getting her a new fox." She said. "Okay stay, safe." Star said, handing the stuff to Phoenix. "Will do," Blacklight replied as she went out the door. The wild dog in turn set Gluzze on the couch and gently started working on her wounds while mumbling soothing nonsense while she worked.
Star stood back. She couldn't have killed Galaxy and Cassiel.... She do net seem like one to manipulate like that. She thought. Phoenix cleaned her up and set Gluzze in her lap afterwards. Star put the stuff up and helped clean up downstairs.
Gluzze sat there and whined a tiny bit. Phoenix pat her head gently, but had a dark look on her face. "I think I'm going to head into town. Need to grab some things." She said, making sure she had her phone as she got up. Gluzze moved to the side and looked at her. Azreal gave a short nod to her statement.
Phoenix glanced back, having a regretful look on her face as she closed the door behind her.
Star caught Trippze as he was running around and held him for a second. "Hey, please try to slow down a little and watch where you're going, concussions really aren't good for you." She told him sternly. 'What's a concussion?' Trippze thought. "It's where your brain touches your skull and you pass out." She explained. "Basically, you hurt your head and everything goes black for a while."
'Fine.' Trippze thought. Star grinned and ruffled his feathers before turning him loose.
