AKIRO's

"Ohayōgozaimasu! Ojīsan!" Hiro greeted with a big smile. “Welcome to the Philippines, Ojīsan!” I rolled my eyes at his over-the-top excitement.
Good morning, Grandfather.

"Mago, ogenkidesuka?"
How are you, grandson?

"I'm okay, Ojīsan, still handsome!" Hiro replied with his strange laugh.

"Akiro? How are you?" he asked me.

"I'm fine, Ojīsan," I said.

"Still teaching?"

"Hai." Yes.

"Good to hear. Your mom?"

"In the kitchen preparing food for us."

"Hiro? Can you please leave us for a while? I want to talk to your Kuya." Ojīsan told him firmly.

Hiro looked at me, confused, but then he sighed and left the room quickly.

"Mago... I will make this short. I want you to get married." He said it plainly, like it was no big deal.

He wasn’t asking it was a command.

"W-what, Ojīsan?” I gasped, my heart racing. “But why?"

"It's for the future of our company, Mago. You will marry the heir of Guerrero. You know them, right?" He took a sip of his tea.

Guerrero—our only business partner. The owner is his friend, or maybe best friend? I heard it’s been a year since he found his long-lost granddaughter. And now, I hear he is sick.

So that’s why I have to marry his granddaughter, huh? I can’t believe this.

I shouldn’t be surprised. My whole life has been about them my opinion doesn’t matter. Being a good grandson, I’ll do it—even if I don’t want to.

When will I get to choose for myself? When? I’m so tired.

I don’t even know if this body belongs to me anymore.

"Why, Ojīsan? I'm only 21!" I shouted, frustration spilling out.

"Akiro! How dare you shout at me?” he replied, his voice loud and serious. “Whether you like it or not, you will marry her. End of conversation. Understood?"

"But Oj—"

"No more ‘buts,’ Akiro! UNDERSTOOD?" His voice filled the room, making me freeze for a moment. He was really mad—angry. He hardly ever raised his voice, and I could feel how serious he was.

I sighed heavily before saying, "Hai, Ojīsan."

"Good. Let's go eat. After that, get ready. We're having dinner with them tonight." He walked out, leaving me alone to think about how I was stuck in this terrible situation.

Once he was gone, I punched the wall hard, feeling the pain in my fist until it made me calm. I grabbed my hair tightly, trying to deal with my frustration.

“Fuck! This life!”

I returned to reality when I heard Hiro's loud voice.

"Kuya! I can't believe you’re getting married to someone you don’t even know or have never met. It's kind of funny!" Hiro said, as if it were the funniest thing he’d ever heard. He laughed in the middle of my miserable situation. What a supportive brother.

“Looks like I have a choice,” I replied sarcastically.

“Easy, Kuya! We're here!"

I lazily opened the car door and stepped out, but I paused for a moment when I saw those familiar, shining brown eyes and her delectable rosy lips. She was laughing with Ojīsan.
