Miliani's POV
We reached the hospital along with all of our friends. The building was bustling with people, doctors rolled patients into emergency wards with their loved ones following behind them.
"I never liked hospitals" Karlos said, he was as much paranoid of hospitals as I was. We both have seen people dying, our people.
"Me neither" he looked down at me before clasping his hand around my shoulder just as Ailee placed her on top of Karl's, it was funny how we three gain courage from each other. Ailee and Karl are a very important part of my life, they were the main heroes who saved me from myself, they saved me when I was going insane. When my fight was with my insanity.
"Do you know why people pray?" Ailee suddenly asked, she wasn't directing the question to anyone, it was just a thought. We were heading towards the elevators. Caim was behind us talking to someone in his phone while Lucas was staying behind with Kylie. They were talking but I could see Lucas being the prominent talker.
Ailee's question struck a chord in me. I felt myself drowning deep in my brain to find out the answer. Layla always was a prayer type person, she'd always confess her sins in the church on every Sunday. Even if her sins consist of stealing my pair of socks, or simply lying to me for going out. Layla was simple like that, while I was a complete different side of coin.
I was more outgoing, more likely to expect a sin from, maybe getting pregnant before wedding or doing drugs, I was more leaned into the notorious kid type than Layla. She was a saint while I was a devil with a Halo.
"So they can hide their sins. I've never seen anyone going to God and saying 'you are the best, I don't have anything to confess to or complain about. I'm just here to appreciate what youve done for me' and even if they do that would be a lie too, if someone goes to church, it's because they want to either confess to something or apologize for something they did which couldn't be revealed to anyone" I said.
"Yeah, once I visited Church just to sit there peacefully but than I ranted for a whole thirty minutes about how my mom never let's me do whatever I want" Ailee said. It pulled out a laugh from me.
"Its easy to talk about your mistake when no one is listening" Ailee sighed and nodded, si did Karl.
Yeah, it's easy to talk about everything when noone is listening to you. You can fear no-one and say whatever the hell you want. Maybe thats why people smcremas when no-one is listening, I went to church for a whole year after Layla died. I was being selfish as I never wanted to accept I took my sisters life, I've confessed to the power above but even then I felt as mush guilty as I did when I let that happen.
"Hey" Karl bumped his shoulders with mine " what you got in that small mind of yours?" He smiled down at me. We all entered the elevator when I saw Caim waiting outside. He wasn't going to come up with us? I tried to call out for him but before I could the door started to close and the last thing I saw were his eyes meeting mine.
"Nothing" I shook my head. "I was just spacing out" I said. Karl looked at me curiously before shrugging.
"How have you been Kylie?" Ailee asked as she was the one standing beside her. The elevator was cramped with two huge guys hovering abouve out head. The space felt too small even if it wasn't.
Kylie for the most part remained silent, just answering Lucas whenever he asked any question or smiled when he made a joke. I was slowly getting myself invested more into her than I liked. Kylie was being secretive, I know it's not long since we've known her and its totally up to her to share any personal information but she's being distracted and lost in her whole world.
