MILIANI'S POV

You know the feeling you get when you're in the middle of wanting to fall asleep but still grasp a fragment of reality and can't decide whether you want to surrender to sleep or stay awake, that torturous state which makes you feel like your reality is messing up your dreams and changing them into nightmares. That's the worst kind of feeling and right now I'm doing everything to keep that feeling away from dislodging my functionality and focus on the cool breeze whipping my face.

We were still in the car with me sitting in Caim's lap hiding my face from the cold wind by burying it in his neck. His scent calmed me, even though we've known each other for only some time but I can feel the connection between us. We are opposites like two poles, still, I feel drawn to him. His silent attitude, the way he somehow expresses everything without uttering a single word intrigues me in ways no one has before.

The voice of Sam smith blending with our serene breathing, creating a comfortable atmosphere. My body was wrapped around his inhumanly hot one, seeking comfort as much as I can until we reach the designated place. He said nothing throughout the whole drive and I was grateful for that, I was liking this silent setting where I could hear the sound of his calmly beating heart and feel his warm breath on my neck.

They say never to trust a stranger but what if the stranger is your only source of warmth? Caim was never a stranger to me, even before we met we were somehow connected through the silent glances I gave him or the mini encounter we had when I bumped into him. He was always familiar; even the things people said about him were familiar to me than the one saying it. Caim was the epitome of rumors; everyone talked about his lifestyle, his mysterious ways. The way he acted towards everyone was same, a glare or a clenched jaw. His eyes devoid of anything but held everything inside his mini universe.

I don't know anything about him, yet he understood the depth of my pain without acknowledging it. He came to me, no questions asked. And held me when no one was with me, I can only think of this understanding as a result of an experience that required his broken pieces to be picked up and no one was there helping him. Maybe its in my head or maybe it is the truth.

He stopped the car after another thirty minutes of driving on the pitch-black road. it was so dark that I couldn't see anything from the back mirror, only the moonlight shining on the trees, creating a serene effect. He put his hands on my waist and lifted me to open his door, with small difficulty he climbed out of the car with me still clinging to him. He never complained about carrying me in and out of the car and I was too tired to acknowledge it.

After closing the door, he put me down on the ground; the cold sand touched my feet making me flinch. I looked underneath to found that I forget to put on shoes while coming out of the house. Even though the sand was soft, my feet digging in the grains but it was too cold to take in the comfort. I would've loved the soft sand in between my fingers but right now the cold was biting me. Caim, who noticed my sudden jolt realized the same thing and quickly took off his shoes before placing them near my naked feet.

"Wear them," he said while looking around the place, perching down on the sand, I slipped my feet in his shoes, they looked gigantic on me. I always had the smallest feet in my family; they were smaller than any normal size which made it very hard for me to find any desired footwear in my size. My feet were immediately engulfed with warm from his shoes.

I probably looked stupid with a large jacket engulfing my petite body and wearing a pair of shoes larger than my feet, though both were comfortable and kept me warm. I looked down to Caim's feet up to his head. He was left with only a pair of socks and a black shirt cladding his defined chest. I felt a tad bit guilty for taking his shoes and jacket but his scent was begging me to spit away the guilt.
