Abby's Birthday Party

It is the day before Abby's birthday party. Her mom told me where it is at and what time it is. I am finishing up Abby's birthday present. It is a little canvas that I painted. It has words on it and it says:

Though many miles may lie between us, we are never far apart. For friendship doesn't count miles, it's measured by the heart

I also got a card that says

A wonderful and joyful birthday for the most amazing person in the world

on the outside and

Although, we broke up, I still want to be friends. I hope you like the present. I made it myself. If you don't want to be friends, I guess that's okay. I just want you to know that I love you and I will never forget you

                                                                                                                                           -Samie

It was a completely blank card so I wrote all of that. I put it in the envelope and seal it shut. I write her name on the envelope and tape it to the top of the canvas.

"Mom, what am I going to wear?" I ask

"You could wear that outfit that Abby used to love so much."

"Oh, that's a good idea. What about my hair and make-up?"

"I'll have Todd and Clyde come over tomorrow morning. Stop worrying about it so much."

"Thanks, mom." I kiss her on the cheek and then run upstairs to grab the outfit I'm going to wear and hang it up on the door. When I get upstairs, Kitty Purry is laying in my bed. After I get my clothes and hang it up, I pick Kitty Purry up and rub my nose on hers. I carry her down stairs and sit down on the couch. She curls up in a ball on my lap.

"You might want to put her back upstairs."

"Why?" The front door opens and Butters comes running in and jumps on the couch causing Kitty Purry to run up stairs as fast as she can

"Could've warned me a little bit sooner." Tamra and Erika walk into the living room

"Hey," Tamra says

"Samie, what happened to your hair? It's not blonde anymore."

"I died it to look more like my mom."

"Aww that's so sweet." Tamra sits next to me and Erika sits beside Tamra. My mom is sitting on the other side of me. I look at my mom with an aggravated look.

"I didn't know Erika was coming too." she lips to me

"Mom, can I talk to you in the kitchen real quick?" I ask as I stand up, grab my mom's hand, and pull her into the kitchen. Butters follows us.

"Samie, I'm sorry. I didn't know Erika was coming with her."

"You could have figured that."

"I'm sorry."

"Sorry, isn't enough. You know I don't like Erika."

"Yes, I know, but that was a long time ago. Don't you think you should let it go."

"No, you know what she said about me. How could I ever forgive her?" l start to cry. My mom pulls me into her. I bury my head into her shoulder.

"Samie, she didn't know then."

"I know, but still."

"You can't really blame her. It would be easy to say those things about you back then."
