Christmas Party

Today is the day that my sister gets out of Juvie. I woke up because my phone was ringing and when I answered, it was the Juvie calling me saying that she gets out at noon. Since she currently doesn't have a family, I volunteered to pick her up. My mom has to come because an adult has to sign the release papers. This will also be the first time they will get to meet each other. It's 11:30 so we start to head over there. We get there 5 minutes before noon. They tell us to sit in the waiting room after my mom signs the release papers. Thankfully, no one recognizes us. My mom, Abigail, and I walk out and get in my mom's car. We are in the Veneno. 

"Oh, my God. This car had to of been really expensive."

"I guess you could say that."

"Oh, and, by the way, my mom said it's okay if you stay with us until you get adopted so you don't have to stay in a foster home."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"That's really nice of you, Ms. Perry."

"Please, call me Katy, Mom, MamaCat, anything beside Ms. Perry. It makes me feel old."

"Okay, Katy."

"Hey, Mom. When are those people supposed to come in and remove the tank from around my bed?"

"Probably in a couple days. I know they said they would come in before Christmas."

"Okay, thanks."

"Wait, you have a fish tank around your bed?"

"Yeah, but I'm getting it removed because it spins to let you in or out and it makes me nauseous and plus, when the baby is born, I want her to be able to sleep next to my bed and there isn't any room with the tank there."

"Oh, okay. I have a question."

"Okay."

"Am I going to get lost in this house."

"Probably, but we won't leave you at the house alone. Anyways, you should be fine as long as you stay on the main floor unless you are with one of us."

"There's more than one floor!"

"Yeah, the main floor, the two basements, the 2nd and 3rd floors, and the attic, but the 3rd floor is off limits."

"Why's that?"

"I don't know. " My mom smirks. "I'm pretty sure my mom's hiding dead bodies up there."

"Hiding something," my mom says

"Are you hiding dildos up there?" I shout

"Oh, my God, no. Those are in my closet."

"Mom! I go in your closet. I don't want to be in the same room with something that has been.. you know... inside of you."

"Better not hang around John then."

"Mom!!" 

"It's true."

"Are you two back together?"

"I don't know. It's complicated."

"Mom, I'm done with this 'it's complicated' bullshit. I want a real answer."

"Fine.. He said that he found another girl."

"When was that?"

"A couple months ago."

"I doubt it will last. You two belong together."

Umm... John who?" Abigail asks

"John Mayer, my mom's on again, off again boyfriend. Even though, most of the time when they are 'broken up,' I still come home to them having it out on the couch or I can hear them in my mom's room." I whispered the last sentence.
