There was an instant uproar at Daisy's words.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE LEAVING?" roared Lord Hastings.
"Daisy!" exclaimed Hetty, extremely shocked.
"Miss Daisy! What do you think you are doing? What will your parents say?" cried Mrs Doherty. Mrs Doherty looked around for Lady Hastings. She stared desperately at her as if Daisy were her own daughter. Lady Hastings did not say anything. She simply stared at her daughter. Daisy stared right back.
Lady Hastings took a deep breath. "I suppose so..." she said slowly.
I'm updating this at school so it's reaaaaally slowT-T. Sitting in Media Arts. Lol.
There was silence. Lord Hastings stared, wide-mouthed and stuttering at his wife. Mrs Doherty managed to somehow burst into tears. Hetty looked absolutely furious at this piece of news. Lady Hastings let out a huge sigh of relief she had probably been containing inside herself.
Daisy, however, looked extremely pleased. "Thank you mother!" she beamed and without another word, dragged me upstairs with her.
As soon as we entered her room, I burst out laughing. "Well, that was a relief," I giggled.
"That's right Watson." Daisy said, looking extremely proud of herself.
We bounced out of the room again, keen to tell the others. When we told told, they all looked amazed at our bravery-and probably also, at our stupidity.
"That's brilliant," said George, applauding us and smiling. Only Lavinia, however, looked stony.
She jerked her head to the left. "Beanie is in there, crying. She only just confessed. And Kitty's ran away." There was silence and then-immediately another uproar, clearly worthy of Bluey the Blueberry.
