I flopped on the bed and smiled to no one in particular. My mind began to go back to what had happened a few hours ago between Daisy and me that we had kept a secret from Hazel.

***Flashback***

"Ugh, can you get out of my way?"

"What, no, don't judge me, look at you! What's wrong with your walk; it's all jumby-mumbly."

"That's not even a real word, you deranged lunatic."

"Who are you calling 'deranged', Daisy, you're de-arranged. Your forehead's humongous."

"Oh, just shut it."

"Mhm."

Daisy stared at James, who was the real one wobbling about in front of her. And how dare he tell her that her forehead was big!

"Yeah well-" she began.

"I wasn't insulting you," James said apologetically. The corner's of Daisy's mouth turned up a bit.

"I was describing you."

***

Daisy was a rather peculiar girl, or so I thought. Personally, if I was her, I wouldn't've let my amazing roast slide.

I wonder if Daisy's queer. I mean, not that I'm against those things, just wondering. In my life, I've been surrounded by people who are queer. All I know is Hazel is definitely not queer in any way.

I honestly wish people who are queer didn't have to hide it. Humans are stupid, yes I know, and it's very obvious. We've created hate even against our own kind. How are we ever supposed to stay alive like this? My mind drifted towards the war that would be coming soon. We hadn't lived in peace for a long time; around two decades and a new war begins! I won't act stupid; I've heard Lavinia's mutterings. She wants to join and fight. Lavinia was just like that.

A rustling outside of my cabin alerted me. Since I had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do, I decided to go outside. The next thing I saw? Amber. Casually sauntering around. My head darted from left to right. That meant Hazel was here somewhere.

"Hazel?" I whisper-shouted. Nothing. Maybe Hazel was in trouble. Or maybe, she was just on the other side of Amber, so focused that she possibly didn't hear me.

I swivelled my head to see if Amber had caught me or not. No, she was gone. Sighing, my eyes fell to the floor. A card. The card was lying there, the small breeze penetrating through the windows picking it up then carrying it back down. I tiptoed over and swiftly picked it up and placed it in my coat. Then, I went back inside my room and flopped on the bed.

Oh no, I don't mean to go through anyone's information. I don't. I'm not that sort of person. But what I saw intrigued me more than Daisy's silky gold hair.
