Nora POV
before the dinner...

„I've heard you wrote a D this time. Is that true?"
I turned around while filling my first glass of wine for the night.

„You don't even care so why do you ask?" I fired back immediately to my stepmother.

„Your father and I are really disappointed. But we knew you'd fail eventually." oh how I would love to smack the glass into her face but I don't waste a drop of wine on this bitch.

„I never even got the chance to be anything else other than a disappointment. Remember I was born and already the black sheep. So don't come around and try to teach me a lesson. Because the only thing this family thought me is hate and not the hate towards others... the hate towards you."

„How dare you talk to your mother like that Nora!!" my father walked into the kitchen crossing his arms as he was looking angry at me. An expression I got used to.

„She's not my mother. She might be for the others. But not for me. I never had one."

„You Are the reason why you don't have a mother." this sentence hit in a way i can't describe.
He has no right to say things like this but yet I know he's right.
Tears beamed in my eyes and before I could even defend myself the door bell rang.

„The guests are there. Behave this night do you understand." he pointed at me and took Jessica by the arm leading her out to join him.

I walked outside minding the others that will come in. I'm not down to interact with anyone and I know this will be a long night. I don't even know why I'm here. I can't wait until I'll be out of college so that I can get as far away from this family as I
possibly can.

Professor Olsen POV

„George, Jessica thank you for having us."
Robbie and I greeted them both and they smiled gently towards us leading us in.

„We didn't want to come empty handed. Here is some wine for the both of you."
I gave it to Jessica and she smiled down onto the basked and then up to me.

„Thank you. We appreciate it." She replied.

„Go on in we'll be Right behind you we are just gonna greet the others." George informed us and we nod beginning to walk in.

„It's massive in here isn't it?" Robbie whispered even though we are alone in the foyer for now.

„It is. They have a lot of space." I replied while looking around hoping to see a certain pair of eyes.

Somehow I wanted to see Nora here. But I also didn't want to see her because I know exactly that she will be tensed around her family. I seem to care way to much about her and I don't even know why.
I wanna know more about her and about why she has such a bad relationship with her family.
I can't imagine that she is as terrible as her father described her. She gives me the impression of a
warm-hearted woman but she seems to get cold as soon as she interacts with her father.

„Please. What drinks can we get you." we turned around to everyone from college walking in. All my
colleagues walked in with George and Jessica.
The only face I know is Scarlett's. I haven't really interacted with the others yet and they seem really really old and grumpy. At least I have one familiar face I can talk to because I'm not really a person who loves to interact with strangers.

„Scarlett..." Robbie greeted her with a stern voice. His grip around my hand tightened and I know exactly why.

He hates her. He always did.

„Robbie.. nice seeing you." she replied glancing at me and then back to him. I know she's lying. I can tell by the way she talks. So disgusted by him.
