„Toddles"

Nora POV

I started to settle back into my normal life. I got out of the hospital and it has been two weeks ever since i woke up. College was giving me the usual headache but that was nothing new for me.

I take the meds as prescribed and they really knock me out of my system even though they help. I've been still kinda avoiding Lizzie for some reason.

Sadly i had to except the fact the I am cut off from this basketball season due to my head injury.
I still train at the gym at a slow pace just to stay in shape and to not get out of her rhythm.

„The topics that we've discussed in the last two weeks are relevant for your upcoming exams.
This exam is important so don't waste your time on partying as per usual. You are all dismissed."
Lizzie announced and I got up to get going Just like everyone else but I still had to talk to her even though I didn't want to.

„Hey."

„Hi Nora. How have you been?" she questioned with a slightly higher voice as if she was exited and surprised that I walked up to her.

„All good so far." I replied lowly and she stopped her work now taking the time to look at me closely.

„I am sorry that you can't play this season. Coach Johansson told me." She said with a half smile across her face to show some sympathy.

„Yeah. Thanks. It sucks but I can't change anything about it. Seems like my father got what he wanted."

„What does he have to do with it?" she asked confused.

„Nothing major. He just kinda punished me for hitting Elle. He said I wasn't allowed to play this season. I did play the first game behind his back and turns out he got what he wanted. Anyways..
This wasn't the actual reason why I am talking to you right now."

„Then what is the reason?" she asked now while leaning back into her chair.

„Because of the exam. I kinda didn't get the subjects and topics so I can learn for them.
Y'know with me being in the hospital and then at home for a week resting I kinda lost track and I don't wanna fail this exam."

„I can give you private lessons if you want to."
She answered immediately and this surprised me.

„Ehh... this wasn't really what I asked for but okay.
If I don't ruin your schedule or something."
She opened her MacBook and looked something up before answering me.

„I can slide you into my schedule. It can get tight but I think I'll be able to get some air so we can study together." she offered and I feel like this was a bad idea.

„Y'know what? You can also just give me the topics and I'll see how to get the stuff done. You must be really busy and I don't wanna steal some of your free time."

„Nonsense. I have some space and you sure as well do too since you are not allowed to train with the team. In that time we can study together."

„is that really okay for you?" I asked making sure I don't steal her time unnecessarily.

„Of course it is. You got training three times a week right?" she asked and I was surprised that she knows this.

„How do you know?" I asked and she chuckled.

„Well.. you always have your training shoes wrapped on your backpack. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday."

„Have you been checking me out or some?"
I asked and she got red around the nose while rolling her eyes.

„No I just noticed that's all. Don't wrap your head around it Lewis."

„I won't Olsen. It's just surprising that's all."

„Alright. So you wanna study at the time you would have your training?" she asked while typing into her MacBook again.

„Sure yeah. That sounds great." I answered and she smiled softly.

„Good. Well then I got you into my schedule. Tomorrow on Wednesday will be your first session.
I want you in my office. On time."

„Yes ma'am." I saluted and it made her laugh.
I haven't heard that in a while..

„Don't ma'am me. This makes me feel old."

„Well. You aren't.. I am just joking Misses."
I teased her and she threw a pen at me which landed right on my head.

„Oww. Seems like you woke up and chose violence today. I better watch out."

„Yeah better watch out what you say young lady."
She said slightly stern.

„Well-." I got interrupted as my phone started to ring. I pulled it out of my pocket reading the message that said:

„Training hall office. Meet me there in five."

„Who is the one making you smirk from ear to ear?" my mind got pulled back to Lizzie sitting right in front of me. I forgot that she was right here for a sec.

„Hmm nothing. Just some funny memes..."
I mumbled while placing my phone back where it was before.

She squinted her eyes at me probably not believing what I said. „Hmm. Memes... is that so?"

„Yep. Memes. In fact. I forgot I got an important appointment. Soo... I'll see you tomorrow then."
I started to walk off and she looked so lost at me on why I dumped her so abruptly.

„An appointment? Where?" she asked confused digging in deeper and I gotta answer fast or I'll blow my cover.

„My physiotherapist. It's a check up from the accident. Y'know the drill. Doctors appointments here and there." Jackpot I can use that lie for a while if she asks again.

„Oh yeah... well I hope they will be able to help a bit more. See ya tomorrow then."

„Yeah toddles." I waved off and walked out leaning against the wall next to the door.

„Toodles? Nora? What the actual fuck was that?"
I cursed myself and heard lizzie giggle.

„Toddles. How sweet." she imitated me and laughed more but my phone buzzed again which distracted me.

„Someone's needy today." I mumble as I started to walk towards the sports hall.
