Nora POV

„Nora how is college going so far?" I played around with my food with the fork not really paying any attention to who talked to me.

„Nora." I got poked from the side.

I raised my head and looked at my brother who was patiently waiting for an answer.

„It's alright." I brushed the question off not having the desire to do this ‚family catching up Small talk shit'.

„lying doesn't suit you little sister." he replied and my face furrowed.

„I'm sorry what?" I asked confused.

Obviously there wasn't just my family around.
This was a dinner with strangers as well and the fact that he doesn't shut up says a lot. Just like father.

I had my sister to my left and Oliver to my right with Jessica and at the head of the table my father.
On the right side opposite of me we have Wess who ask me all this shit.
Next to him is to my surprise Scarlett which I haven't looked at for a single time. Next to Scarlett so right in front of me is Lizzie with her fiancé Robbie next to her.

I'd give everything to just disappear right now.
This Social gathering is making my stomach turn or it's the amount of alcohol trying to digest I don't know but I can't take this for long that for sure.

„I've heard you had a bad grading in an exam."

„Wow seems like news like that spread like a disease." I fired back and his face frowns.

„Nora what did I ask you before everyone gathered around." father interrupted and my eyes darted to him and back to Wess.

„I haven't said anything wrong." I defender myself.

„No you've said to much-."

„Not my problem if I get asked. I'm just answering."

„Enough Nora." he warns me and I'm sick of this shit.

I poured another glass which I probably shouldn't because I already feel sick. I felt eyes on me and I knew exactly who's. Scarlett and Lizzie are both keeping not one but two eyes on me for some reason.

I haven't even exchanged a word with Scarlett ever since she fucked me senselessly on my couch. My body starts to tingle as I think back to that night. I'd do it again because her touch is intoxicating. But I wonder If she feels the same about me.
I don't really look for a relationship now but a fuck buddy would give me some distraction from the misery around me.

„So how long have you two been married if I may ask." Scarlett opened a topic that isn't really appropriate. Well not for me because I hate hearing them talk about it. But she really couldn't know about it.

„12 years. Right my dear?" Jessica replied as she grabbed my fathers hand.

„That's right my dear." he replied and stroked her hand.

„So you aren't the biological mother?" I dropped my fork as I heard the question Lizzie asked innocently.

Everyone's eyes darted through the room and nobody said a single thing for a draining minute.

„Gladly she isn't out biological mother."

„Nora this is enough. I've tolerated this behavior for way to long and I'm sick of it."
Father pressed these words through his teeth and
I can already sense how he is raging.

„I am so sorry for her behavior this is so out of place." he apologized for Lizzie and Scarlett who have been listening to us.

„Nora you should apologize to mom." Oliver spoke up next to me. I eyed him up and down then looking at Jessica. How he refers to her as mom makes me sick.
