Lizzie POV

„I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how you feel. But suppressing the things that tear you down isn't really a healthy option."

„Well it's the option I've been sticking to for a long time."

„Is this why you have such a tense relationship with your family?" I questioned and she only nod at my answer.

My heart starts to ache as I realize that she's been caring this guilt for her whole life. They've placed their own raging emotions onto her and no wonder she's acting disrespectful because she can't take it anymore.

„I'm not trying to offend anyone. But your family is acting like shit." she let out a dry chuckle which confused me.

„You don't gotta tell me that. First of I'm the reason for it. And second I've been living this misery for way to long. That's why I try to avoid them and any events but my father insists.
For the family reputation he said."
Wow that's messed up.

„Ever thought about talking to them?"
Her face furrowed as she heard the question.

„It will only make things worse. I'm telling you. I'll slip and explode and I almost did tonight at the dinner table. It's for the best if these things stay unspoken."

„Maybe not. Suppressing emotions will only make it worse in the end. A lot of people can get hurt."

„I'm already hurt. I can't calm my mind every time I'm around them and I have this burning feeling every time I need to talk to them. My gut wrenches and my Puls is rising. I'm so tense that I bite down on my teeth and clench my jaw just to let out some anger."

„You let the anger out on yourself. That's not right."

„At least it's not floating out on anyone else."

I know I've only heard the surface of what she has on her mind but the fact that she doesn't want to hurt anyone even though she is the hurt one tells a lot. She's pure hearted and I can't stand people who poison her heart and mind.
Our conversation got interrupted by the doorbell ringing and we both shared a confused look.

„Where you expecting anyone?" I asked pointing to the door.

„No. not that I remember. I have a neighbor who loses the main key and I let them in while their other key is under the plants in the flor. I bet it's them I'll just open." she got up and walked to the door pressing the button to open downstairs.

„Anyway. How's your tea?" She asked after sitting down again.

„It's great thank you. Are you trying to avoid a serious conversation?" I asked and she rolled her eyes at me.

„I'm not. This is called small talk you moron."
She covered her mouth as she said the last word.

„Sorry i didn't mean to. Your still an authority figure."

„No it's fine. We don't have such an age gap. Besides I consider you as a friend." a small smile formed on her face and it faded away completely as we heard a loud door knock.

„Your neighbor?" I asked and she hummed getting up to open.

Nora POV

I walked up the door to open and see if it's my neighbor who gets drunk home often. They usually forget where they put the key so I always show them when they are so wasted.

As i opened the door I looked up facing my ex.
I closed the door so that he wouldn't have a chance to see who's actually sitting on my couch.
This will throw a bad light onto us.
