Gently

Lizzie POV

„C-can I... stay at your place tonight? I can sleep on the couch. I know this is probably to much to ask for, but I know that he will be at my place at some point and I just...I just need a break for one night." she pleaded as she was playing with her rings which was a habit I knew all to well.

„Sorry. That's dumb I shouldn't have asked. You got Robbie waiting for you at home and this just feels wrong." she added not giving me a chance to answer.

„It's fine. I wouldn't have let you stay at your place anyway. I am actually alone tonight so there won't be anyone except for us." I replied and she nod softly.

„I haven't seen you in weeks. What is going on?"
I asked after some silence. She didn't reply at first but I guess she needed time to figure out a proper answer.

„I'm just not in the right mind place at the moment. A lot of things are overwhelming me and
I just couldn't get myself up to do anything."
She replied quietly and I glanced at her seeing how she is minding my gaze by looking out the window.

„Is it because of  Victor? Is he making you feel this way?" I inquired and she staid silent.

„Can we talk about something else?"

„Why?"

„Because if I say it I would probably never stop crying." she fired back and rubbed her eyes while leaning back.

„I'm sorry. But you have to talk to someone about it eventually and I just want you to know that I'll be there if you want to talk."

„Thank you." she replied simply.

The rest of the drive was in a pressuring silence, because nobody knew what to say.
We both where lost in our thoughts and mine just swirled around her and what she went through that she didn't want to tell me.

„Alright. Let's go inside shall we." I unbuckled and turned the engine off to get out.
She got out as well and followed me silently.

„Can I get you anything? Some water or a coffee to sober up?" I asked her as she took off her shoes in the hallway.

„No. Well maybe if it's okay for you I'd like to take a shower? I just wanna freshen up after this night."

„Yes of course. Let me show you the way."
I nod towards the stairs and she followed silently.

„Here you go. You have everything you need.
I'll lay some clothes out for you so you."
I showed her the shower and she gave me a half smile.

„Thank you Liz." she answered and I nod giving her a gentle smile.

„You don't have to thank me all the time."

„I know. But I want to. So thank you." she replied and I nod walking off to the closet to get her some clothes.

I laid them down on my bed and got ready to sleep again as I was putting on my oversized shirt.
The shower water splattered down and after some time I started to hear faint sobs coming from Nora.

My heart breaks as I hear her cry. She probably thinks that I don't hear her since the shower overshadows her voice but I did.
I heard every sniff and every sob that came from her and all I wanted to do is to take her pain away so that she can be at ease.

The water got turned off after a while and I heard her step out of she shower. She peaked her head through the half opened door and saw me sitting on the bed with the clothes I laid out for her.

„Here. I got you some clothes." I handed her them over and she smiled softly. She didn't even look like she was crying even though I heard her.

„Thanks." I nod at her and she walked back in closing the door.

I got back into my bed and turned the lights off letting the smaller lamp fill the room with warm dimmed lights. After some minutes the door opened and she walked out with my clothes on which was pleasant to look at.

„Is it okay if I?" she pointed at the free spot next to me and I moved the blanket so she could lay down.

„Of course. Come here." I tapped next to me and she smiled brighter for a split second.

We laid down and covered up in the blanket.
We where both looking at each other and we laid close together. So close that I was able to see every single freckle on her nose and cheekbones.

„What are you looking at so fixated?" she whispered after some minutes and I realized that I was staring.

„Your freckles." I replied bluntly and she smiled.

„Well. Why don't you take a picture it will last longer." she joked around and this was the Nora I knew and adored.

„Ha ha. You dork." I replied and I noticed how she got lost in my eyes for a moment.

„I'm sure a lot of people have told you that already.
But you have stunning eyes. This is probably the drunk me speaking so... yeah. Their just.. I could get lost in them." she huffed out quietly and I hope I don't blush because I normally do.

„What's that little point under your eye?"
I asked as I was really looking at every detail I could find.

„Oh This? It's just a little birthmark in my eye.
Nobody ever noticed it." she replied surprised.

„It looks beautiful. I've never seen someone have a birthmark in their eyes."

„Yeah. I guess I do got something special to these brown boring eyes." she joked and I smiled wide at her.

„There aren't boring at all."

„Thank you Liz." she thanked me again and something seems to pull me closer to her.

As if she was hypnotizing me with her simple being.
Her lips looked so kissable and I don't know why but I feel like I can't resist. I glanced at them every split moment and I noticed that she did the same.

I moved closer and raised my hand up to remove the hair out of her face and I noticed how she flinched before I touched her. This breaks me.

„I won't hurt you Nora. I could never."
I whispered and her got lose from her tensing up.

„Can I?" I asked wanting to make sure that she consents or else I wouldn't dare to touch her cause I know how it feels if you don't want to be touched.

„Yes." she whispered and I placed my hand on her face stroking the hair behind her ear. I let our foreheads rest on each other as we still kept eye contact from time to time.
I still couldn't keep my eyes away from her lips.

„Can I kiss you?" I asked after some silence.

„Please." she replied and I let our lips connect together gently.

My hand rested on her jawline pulling her in gently letting the kiss deepen with every moment passing.
I didn't want to force anything into her so I let her control the pace of our kiss. I just wanna let her know that I won't rush her for anything she doesn't want. Even if we had sex once before, this time it's different. She is different and I noticed it immediately.
