Lizzie POV

After a while I had to go to the bathroom and I thought it was empty until I heard faint sobs.
They seemed so familiar to me and then it clicked.
It's Nora.

„Nora? Hey? You in There?" I heard how she sniffed her nose and coughed lightly.

„Yeah give me a sec." she breathed out and I stepped a bit back so she can open the door.

„Are you okay?" I asked as she stepped out not facing me immediately as she goes to the sink to wash her hands.

„Why wouldn't I be?" she asked with a faint smile crossing her face. She looked me in the eyes through the mirror and they were drained in red.

„you've been crying. In a bathroom. Of course I'm gonna ask if your okay if I find you like this."
I stated obviously.

„I'm just allergic. That's all."

„Allergic to what?" I asked not believing her as I heard a hint of sarcasm.

„Allergic to weddings." she mumbled and I rolled my eyes.

„Now stop with this sarcasm. What is really going on? I'm honestly surprised that you are here.
I wouldn't have expected to see you at all."

„Well. To be honest I didn't really want to be here in the first place. But I had to." she replied as she dried her hands off.

After she finished what she was doing she looked at me closely and her facial expression started to soften. As if she was relieved or so.

„You have probably heard it a lot today but you look breathtakingly beautiful."
She complimented and although I've heard compliments today, this one made me feel good in a different type way.

„Thank you. You look beautiful as well."
I pointed out and she chuckled while looking down at her dress and then into the mirror behind her.

As she looked at me through the mirror I feel like time stopped for a moment. Something deep in my mind tells me that something bad will come around for the both of us but especially for her.
She looks so lost at me trying to search for an answer in my face but I didn't know to what question.

„Lizzie." she breathed out and I hummed at her.

She turned around and hugged me unexpected.
I gave in and hugged her back immediately.
One hand rested on the back of my neck as the other was stroking my bare back. She hugged me tighter for a brief moment as she turned her head to whisper „I wish you the best."

She told me quietly before separating us from the hug although I wanted to hold her tighter.
Now I was the one searching for an answer in her face but this bitter sweet moment didn't feel right.
It felt like a goodbye. Why does it feel like a goodbye?

„It's getting late and I'm honestly exhausted.
I should probably go home and get some rest."
She told me as she was moving towards the door.

„Wait. Are you really okay? You know you can talk to me." She smiled faintly as I asked.

„Not this time Lizzie. It's for the best if it stays that way."

„It's not better if you let me stay in the dark.
Let me in please."

„Lizzie. You got married today. It's your big day and I'm not gonna bark in between. Sometimes it's better to stay in the dark. I don't want to ruin the picture you see." she told me and grabbed the door handle to leave.

„Will I see you in class?" I asked and she turned around looking at me again.

„Maybe. I don't know yet." she answered and left me standing here.

Narrator POV

These where the hardest steps to take for Nora.
Not that she was physically in pain. It was her mental mind that made it her feel like she was walking in quick sand. The heels clicked with every step, the music was loud and the guests where having conversations about the most absurd things.

She wanted to listen to everything around her just so she doesn't have to hear her own mind and thoughts screaming for her.
As she looked down onto the floor seeing how her feet took every step she didn't notice where she was going until she bumped into someone.

„For fucking sakes..." Nora mumbled as she felt how her dress got drained in alcohol.

„Nora!! I'm so sorry. I haven't seen you.."
Nora looked up seeing that she wasn't the only one drained in alcohol.

„Scar. No I am sorry. I wasn't paying attention around me. Here." she took a tissue from the table and rubbed over Scarlett's dress.

„Okay well this isn't helping." she mumbled and scar chuckled at how frustrated Nora was.

„Hey it's okay. It's just a dress. It's not like yours is drained in wine as well." she pointed out and Nora looked back down to her dress and then back to Scar.

„Well. I was leaving anyway so for me it won't matter if it's drained in alcohol or not."

„Why Are you leaving you haven't even been here for so long?" scar asked and Nora could list up a million reasons to leave this place. "

„I'm tired. Nobody wants me here." she replied exhausted.

„I bet Lizzie wants you here. Don't be so pessimistic."

„I'm not pessimistic. I'm realistic."

„Okay. I feel like I know what you need right now.
Come on." scar took Nora's hand and they left the hall walking to her car.

„Where are you taking me?" she asked as they sat down in the car.

„Somewhere is all you need to know. Here take this." scar pulled out an oversized hoodie and some shorts for both.

„You always for spare clothes in your car?"
Nora asked as she looked down onto the clothes that lay on her thigh.

„You gotta be prepared for everything."
She replied as she started to take of her dress.

Nora did the same and changed into the way more comforting clothes.

„Now. Wanna tell me where we are going?" she asked again as scar started to drive off.

„Stop being so noisy. You'll see."
She answered with a faint smirk on her face.
