Nora POV

„So you really don't wanna talk about what happened this morning with you and professor Olsen?" Beth asked me as she placed her phone aside.

„Do I look like I wanna talk about it?" I fired back.

„No but you definitely look like you got something to say. It's practically written all over your face."
She answered and she is right.

„Y'know what? she was the one who avoided me for days after we had sex and now I wake up after an accident and she sits here caring as if we had a thing going on, even if there is nothing going on."

„So you are mad that she left? And then you are mad that she is sitting here waiting for you to wake up?" she asked me confused and now I am even more confused.

„I just wanna know why she cares so much. For someone like me who Is a nobody. She has someone waiting at home."

„Oh I get it now." she replied while nodding her head.

„Get what?" I inquired irritated.

„you my girl are mad that she isn't yours. That she didn't stay in your bed, because this is what you want."

„I don't want her. Why would I? I'm good how I am now. Single like a Pringle." I replied to brush it off.

„Come on Lewis. Don't act like you don't care. Because you obviously do."

„Despite the fact if I care or not. It wont change a god damn thing." I replied and she shook her head.

„What is stopping you from you wanting to be more than friends or student and Professor?"
She asked and i chuckled at her question.

„Maybe the fact that she is planning her weeding with her FIANCÉ??? Oh and I am her STUDENT!"
She staid silent as we both let out arguing sink in.

„I should have minded her from the start!" I huffed out as I leaned back into my pillow.

„This is da Desaster! Beth what is going on I can't process where I am right now."

„Hey you'll be alright okay."

„Then why does it feel like I'm stuck?"
I chocked out as I tried to suppress this overwhelming feeling.

„Because that's how life works. Sometimes you feel trapped in a cage but you'll pass through and find the key to the door to move on with whatever is holding you back. I know you will and it's totally normal to feel stuck."

„Thanks B." I replied while taking her hand in mine.

„Oh please. That's what friends are for. You can thank me later when my philosophy talking helped you out." she answered with a laugh and I couldn't help but laugh now too.

„Was she the only one who visited?" I asked after we staid silent for a moment.

„No. coach Johansson was here as well. She visited a couple times and prof was here with her fiancé once and after that alone." she replied and I nod.

„Y'know. I almost drove him over once."
Her eyes almost feel out of her head as she heard me say it.

„You what? H-how?" She asked shocked.

„Remember when I fell off my motorcycle? When I got all these abrasions. That was actually him on the streets and I had to drift past him. I recognized him when I saw him again at the charity event.
Next to Lizzie. Introducing him as her fiancé.
I knew his face from somewhere and then it clicked. It was him."

„Oh wow that's fucked Up. What a bad coincidence." she replied and I hummed.

„Yep. Really fucked up." I mumbled starting to grow tired even though I just woke up.

Lizzie POV

„Come on pick up.." I mumble as I called Scarlett.

„Heyy. Is everything okay? I got like seven missed calls from you?" she asked as she picked up the line.

„Why didn't you pick up in the first place?" I asked not even caring at the moment to say Hallo properly.

„Hi to you too. What has gotten into your mind today that you are so grumpy? Is everything okay? Sorry for not answering but y'know the basketball team doesn't train it self." she replied slightly sassy and now I feel bad for letting my temper out on her.

„Sorry. It's just. There is a lot going on in my mind right now."

„It's okay. Tell me. What's flying around that pretty little head of yours?" she asked.

„Nora woke up.." I replied and after these three unexpected words fell there was silence on the other line.

„Scar? Hey you there?" still no nothing in response from her.

„Hey?!! Is everything okay?" I asked and now I heard her clear her throat.

„Mhh yeah.. all good." she replied lowly first.

„Liz those are great news. How is she doing?
Is everything okay so far?" she asked now sounding a bit more happy about it.

„Yeah. So far so good I guess. She had trouble seeing when she woke up. But the doctors expected this just like they told us. Other then that I think she's okay."

„Wanna give her the phone so I can talk to her?" she asked and I looked to my right seeing that my phone lays in the passenger seat next to my bag.

„Well. I am actually already on the way home."

„Wait. You left? Why?"

„I just need to get some things done. Organization for the Wedding y'know."

„Mhh how could I forget." she replied sounding pissed only by mentioning my wedding.

„Is she alone right now?" she asked.

„No. Beth is with her. I bet they have a lot to catch up on since she's been out for days."

„Wanna tell me what's really going on?" she questioned out of nothing.

„What should there be going on? Everything is okay." I answered and I heard a sight on the other line.

„Everything is okay is probably the top lie you tell and I can hear it in your voice that something is bugging you. You know you can talk to me about everything right?" she emphasized.

Not this Scarlett. I can't tell you that I slept with a student. She will probably think the worst of me If she finds out and who knows she might even tell it the dean or the police and my life would be over.

„I'm just a bit tense these days. It's nothing to worry about. The wedding organizations starts to swirl around my head and it won't seem to have an end."

„I remember you told me it was supposed to be a small circled wedding. What happened to that decision?" she asked.

„Robbie happened. His partners wanted for us a big wedding. I told them all that I get anxiety when I am in the attention spot, especially when I am surrounded by so many people. He doesn't seem to care."

„Y'know you can still quit everything and leave him." she said it so simply but it's not.

„What would that make me as a person scar?
Certainly not a good on."

„Bullshit. This just shows that you follow your heart and that was something that used to stay on your top list when it comes go relationships.
What happened to the list and most importantly what happened to the Lizzie I used to know?"
She questioned and this is what I am asking myself for a long time now too...
