~Bryony~
I knew that after Beverly Young's threat coming to the party could be considered a dumb idea. Bryony Smith wouldn't have dared to put a feet inside the house, she would have probably made up a silly excuse to stay the whole night reading alone. Such a pity that Bryony isn't here anymore and her dead version is much funnier.
In other circumstances I wouldn't have risked to come by jeopardizing my cover as a lively young bookworm. But if I planned to make a potential serial killer fall for me as much as playing with him I couldn't stay at home. I would have liked to visit Miami and see how is Rain adapting to his new life but instead I put on a dress and went to a high school party.
I'm very responsible.
I entered a lost room I found walking past the big hallway, kinda knowing certain vampire may made an appearance. I had already decided how would I react, so it didn't worried me.
Since the room the music from the living room could still be heard, I was still holding my plastic cup when the door opened.
"Lizbeth?" It didn't take Sebastian long to get into the room, letting the door close behind him. I was curious to know which excuse would he made up to justify the fact that he has literally been following me all night long.
"Bored of following me that you decided to follow me?" I took a sip from my cup. My role tonight was going to be the drunk girl who never drank. "Am I funny to follow?"
I tried to sound innocently drunk but a little dazed too, you know, like if someone has just gave me truth serum.
Obviously I wasn't drunk, my tolerance was in way more than three cups. It wasn't like I could afford to be so, who knows what would the drunk me say or do?
"What makes you think I was following you?" Sebastian said in a playful tone.
I don't know, maybe the fact that you have been entering the same room as me the whole night.
"Right, we just have the same tree taste." I looked away from his seducing eyes to look at the tiny bonsai locked in a stone flowerpot stand that laid on the chest of drawers.
I looked back at Sebastian allowing myself to give him a superiority smile, increase of self confidence is a very common drunk ability. Sebastian was laughing softly when he saw the tree my eyes indicated him seconds ago.
"Bonsais huh... holm oaks are better."
I didn't realized how close Sebastian and I were. For the moment the drunk Bryony hasn't make anything she might regret the next morning, I'm not even sure if Sebastian knows I'm drunk so I have to took advantage of the situation. I already said I was going to make that vampire kneeling of love as much as I'm going to mess with him, sure the dream was a dirty trick but it was just the beginning.
I left my plastic cup on the same chest of drawers as the bonsai, Sebastian just watched how I walked away from him without understanding why I did so. I could swear I felt how he was looking at me as if I was food, he didn't take his eyes off me just like a predator never loses its prey of view. In fact that was what we were, Sebastian was the predator, the thirsty vampire, and I the human, his prey. What he didn't know was that it was the other way around in my game.
Because we played two different games that will never stop being the same.
I sat on the bed and took off my shoes, it wasn't like they were uncomfortable but that's what drunk people do, take off things. Sebastian kept watching me in silence, he analyzed every single movement my faked intoxicated body made.
