~Sebastian~
I woke up with Ambrose screaming at me for fifth time to wake up.
I know... but you barely need to sleep Sebastian. Well, I fell asleep one hour ago so I literally didn't sleep last night.
Last night...
I arrived home around 4:00 a.m. I don't even know how did I manage to be out so late in a Sunday, I just lost track of time. The sky was awesomely dark and starry tonight, that plus a couple of wine cups and the confusing situation with Lizbeth equaled to me being out late. I didn't know what was going on with Lizbeth, I didn't understand why did she get annoyed in the first place, neither why was she embarrassed of someone seeing her working. Knowing the effect I had in her I would probably never know. I just hopped I could kept annoying her in class, she's a kind human to talk to, interesting and yummy.
I left the telescope next to the umbrella stand hoping not to be scolded for that, I will take it to my room tomorrow. I was walking to the stairs when I noticed a person sitting on our sofa in the dark. Leoni, she was resting her elbows on her thighs and when I walked closer I realized she was holding a paper in her right hand.
"It's happening again." Was the only thing she said, still looking at the paper. Just when she looked at me seconds later I could see the stamp on the envelope where the paper came from, a stamp I feared to recognize.
"Leoni..." I murmured while I slowly took the paper and envelope from her hands, when I finished reading the short words in the elegant paper I looked at her, I tried to keep my expression neutral but it was late. Leoni already saw the concern in my eyes.
"You have to come with me, Sebastian. Please. Everybody is always invited to these events and there are rumors that Alessandro has been seen not so long ago... He might be there, I really need to see him." Leoni hastened to explain. "My parents like you, Sebastian. I can't do this alone."
Her parents. I have only see them in one occasion, when Leoni turned me and I told her I heard voices in my head. Sure we realized those voices were thoughts of people but none of us knew why was that happening to me. I was the first human Leoni turned, she had always been told she couldn't turn humans, that her parents would take care of turning the humans they considered worthy so they were our only source of answer. I didn't even speak to them in the first place, I was eighteen years old and very thirsty. I was told to stay outside until Leoni's mother caught me overhearing and that was when I met them.
I didn't dislike them, however as soon as Leoni got the answers she needed we left the castle. That was when Leoni discovered the best kept secret of the Queen and King of Vampires, that when a Beaulieu turns a human, that human reborn as an unusual vampire, one who developed a special ability, mine was reading thoughts.
I knew Leoni wouldn't go to that kind of event even getting paid but the rumors about Alessandro changed everything. I knew how important was for her to see him again, it's been ages since the last time and it's starting to hurt, I can see it in her eyes.
"I don't like those events, less the people and neither do you." I hoped to remind her what we were about to agree in.
