Leoni and I were driving towards the airport in the Mercedes. We were half an hour late because I refused at first to leave my car in hands of a man over a thousand years old, he better renewed his driver's license first. Right now Leoni was driving and I was with my phone, maybe my lips curved a couple times forming an smile but that was Lizbeth's fault... It's been two hours since I last saw Lizbeth and now we were texting each other.

"Why are you smiling?" Leoni asked me with the eyes fixed on the road and a smile full of curiosity. "Who are you texting, pretty face?" She saw I was with the phone out of the corner of her eye.

"Lizbeth." I said without thinking the answer, that's why I felt the urge to correct it. "I'm texting Bryony." I remembered her second name was taboo in Greece.

"What are you talking about?" She was interested which honestly surprised me. Leoni's eyes were still fixed on the road but her tone made me think she really wanted to know more.

"Since when are you interested in the girls I hang out with?" I asked confused but with a joking tone.

Don't ask questions you don't want to know, I reproached her in my mind.

"She's different." Leoni assured with no expression, still looking forward. "Right?" She turned to me, looking for affirmation in my gaze, that she indeed found.

I smiled at Leoni, she finally seemed to start understanding everything and I thanked her.

"Her father caught us this morning, before I left." I confessed deeply glad I could talk about her with a friend.

Leoni put on a surprised expression, in her mind she was embarrassed for us, I laughed.

"Do I want to know what did her father catch you doing?" She asked with irony.

"It's not what you think..." I defended us. "I was fully dressed but she had just woken up and was looking around the room for her clothes, that last one was my fault." I laughed after winking at Leoni, she rolled her eyes after making a grimace of disgust. "I was kindly helping her to hook her bra when her father came in."

"Ah, you tidied up what you messed up." Leoni joked and we both laughed.

I loved that, talking about the girl I loved with my friend in a car. I'm not going to lie saying it was perfect because it would have been more perfect if Lizbeth was with me, but I had blackmailed Leoni into letting me choose the music and I was listening to Lizbeth's playlist so at least I took her good taste in music with me.

"Is there something more I should know before arriving to Greece?" I let out the question innocently looking through the window.

Leoni lowered the music's volume until it was just a faint background sound.

"My parents will try to engage me with one of Your Majesties the Princes of the Sticks up to their Asses..." She said angry but not with me. "So the King and Queen of vampires won't like you but it's not personal." She let out all the air she had held.

"That bad is everybody?" I dared to ask.

"No..." She gave in to some happy memories. "Some are kind... others have a thirst for power bigger than their ego but most of them are assholes."
