I arrived at Shadow Hollow around 6 p.m. I had met with her at 7 p.m. in our spot but my plane got in early, I didn't want to stay home so I went to the ancient holm oak and decided to wait for her there. The place was deserted, I was dying to see Lizbeth again, I was afraid because I have decided I wanted to tell her the truth about me but for the moment I would wait, to have her in my arms again and enjoy that happiness I didn't want to admit it had been built above something fake.

I stared at the tree unaware of the world, I just looked at the swing and remembered that afternoon I spent with her in that same swing, I begging her to let me kiss her and she refusing though enjoying my kisses on her neck. I haven't thought about her neck that way since the first time I kissed it, my mouth was meant to kiss it and not to rip it off. Her scene was so delicious that it hurt to stay away and don't taste her but what I felt was so strong... The way her eyes looked at me, how she kissed me... There was no way I wanted to end with that.

I stoped reliving old times when I heard the crack of some branches, there was someone, it wasn't Lizbeth because I would have smelled her, it was someone different... Adult, not very common blood group, he probably went on a run... Nobody will see me... It's been ages since I drank straight from a human, it could be the last time... The last drink before stopping, for Lizbeth. I didn't want my diet to scare her any further because I continued drinking from humans.

The runner went up the small hill until he reached the tree, he ran around the holm oak, I was sat on a bench but I didn't take my eyes off him. When he was about to go down the hill and get lost in the grove again I intercepted him.

I used my speed to reach, the human stopped stunned for the way I got to stand in front of him. The monster I had inside of me smiled when I read a fear thought.

"Don't make a sound, after I finish, you will forget everything that have happened here and go home." I compelled him, my red eyes and fangs were already out.

I closed my eyes at the moment I dig my fangs in his neck enjoying the taste of his blood. It was definitely a not very common blood group. The sound of his heart pumping blood for me... The blood sliding down my throat leaving nothing more that pure pleasure with that meal... I was so focused on his blood that I didn't open the eyes, I knew I had to stop for him to come back home tonight so I started to open my eyes slowly... I didn't want my last meal to stop but then I saw her, Lizbeth. She stood in front of me, just some feet away, and my fangs were still dug in the man's neck.

If my heart would have worked, it would have stopped in that moment, the surprise of seeing her horrified in front of me didn't allow me to let the human go as fast I would have wanted. I looked at her, looking like the bloody monster I was, I was as shocked as her. Lizbeth didn't move, I saw how she started to shiver and I got rid of the human, I let him go and he went running hill down compelled and without looking at the scene. An scene out of a horror movie in which she was shaking like jelly of pure fear and I stared at her with the bloody red eyes and fangs out.

I wiped the blood that was running down my chin with the sleeve of my jacket, although I suspected there might be traces left.

I tried to go to her but as soon as she saw I was coming closer she started to ran, I catch her before she could walk some feet. I grabbed her arms but she wriggled in my hands, she closed her eyes tightly as she wished I disappeared... I saw it in her mind.

"Hey, black sheep, it's me." I was aware of how my voice broke and how my eyes crystallized. I couldn't lose her... She... she was the only good thing in my life, I loved her.

"No..." She almost whispered as she kept wriggling, kicking and struggling. I didn't want to hurt her but she was moving too much.

Couldn't she stop and listen to me? I needed her to listen...
